Team Lead and Technical Manager — Functional Testing

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced technical leader to oversee the functional testing department. This key role combines technical expertise, team management and contribution to the strategic direction of our electronic product testing activities.

Reporting to the Department Director, the selected candidate will work closely with him to ensure operational continuity, knowledge transfer and succession planning in the medium term.


What you'll do:

  • Plan, coordinate and oversee all functional testing activities for our products, from development phases to production support;
  • Ensure the quality, reliability and efficiency of testing methods and systems;
  • Lead the functional testing team by supporting their technical and professional development and by setting clear priorities aligned with business needs;
  • Act as the primary technical reference for complex issues related to board and system testing, as well as failure analysis observed in production;
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, quality and project management teams to ensure effective integration of testing strategies into development cycles and manufacturing operations;
  • Define, maintain and evolve testing standards, processes and tools to support continuous improvement within the department;
  • Assess medium- and long-term needs in terms of resources, equipment and testing infrastructure and contribute to prioritizing required investments;
  • Support the Department Director in strategic planning, priority management and tracking of operational activities;
  • Gradually take on broader departmental management responsibilities, including planning, budget management and representation to leadership, as part of a succession plan.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering or a related field (a specialization in electronics is preferred);
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in functional testing of electronic products;
  • Strong understanding of electronic systems, circuit boards and test instrumentation;
  • Proven experience in technical leadership, coordination or team supervision;
  • Ability to structure effective testing approaches and solve complex technical problems;
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams;
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment or production support;
  • Interest and ability to grow into management and leadership responsibilities in the medium term.

Assets:

  • Knowledge of RF (Radio Frequency) instruments and systems;
  • Strong proficiency with software tools used in test environments, including Python;
  • Knowledge of relational databases.
