Final Assembly Technician

Now, we’re entering a new phase of growth and are looking for a Final Assembly Technician to play a crucial role in the assembly of drone electro-mechanical systems and final products. Your responsibilities will include assembling sub-systems using provided tools, following pre-determined work instructions, and collaborating closely with engineering to implement changes and new features. Additionally, you will assist in updating documentation, service and repair products as necessary, and keep the production lead and management informed of any issues, problems, and progress. Your role will also involve a continuous improvement mindset to help enhance processes. 


What You’ll Do

  • Perform final assembly and integration of drone systems, ensuring all mechanical and electrical components are properly installed and secured
  • Execute to assembly instructions, travelers, and work standards to complete builds accurately and consistently
  • Execute final checks and system verifications, including hardware fit, wiring integrity, and configuration readiness
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve assembly and integration issues prior to test or shipment
  • Ensure all builds meet quality standards, including torque requirements, routing, labeling, and documentation
  • Accurately complete build records, sign-offs, and data entry for traceability
  • Support QA and Engineering to address defects, implement changes, and improve processes
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workspace following 5S and ESD practices
  • Support rework activities as needed to bring units up to standard
  • Ability to take direction and contribute to feedback to improve assembly processes, tools, and work instructions

Requirements

  • 1–3+ years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and follow assembly instructions, schematics, and technical drawings (ACS / work instructions)
  • Experience with hand tools, torque tools, and precision assembly techniques
  • Familiarity with basic electrical systems (wiring, connectors, harnessing, soldering preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality standards in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and identify issues during final integration and build
  • Comfortable working on a production line with hourly targets
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, tracking, and documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with drone/UAV assembly, integration, or testing
  • Background in final assembly or end-of-line build processes
  • Familiarity with flight controllers, ESCs, motors, or RF/communications systems
  • Experience working with IPC standards (e.g., J-STD-001) or similar quality standards
  • Prior experience in troubleshooting system-level issues (electrical, firmware, or integration)
  • Understanding of ESD practices and controlled work environments
  • Previous experience working closely with QA and Engineering teams
  • Ability to support process improvements and feedback on work instructions
  • Knowledge and experience with Linux based systems used for running commands and testing
  • Experience in LEAN manufacturing environment


Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, and move about regularly throughout the day and lift / carry up to 50 pounds. Must have manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment. Must be physically capable of loading and unloading materials on equipment such as a forklift or pallet jack. 


Work Environment

This position typically operates primarily in a professional, climate-controlled office, warehouse, manufacturing, and shipping environment. This role requires use of standard office equipment and may involve exposure various types of machinery and heavy equipment. This position may have exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, and non-climate-controlled environments. At times, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety gloves, goggles, and hearing protection may be required. This is a fast-paced work environment and requires cross departmental collaboration with independent and team-based responsibilities. Standard works hours for this position are 7:00AM to 3:30PM with occasional overtime as operational needs demand.
