We are seeking a highly driven Field Operations Manager to lead day-to-day vegetation management operations across Florida. This role is responsible for overseeing field execution, workforce performance, customer service delivery, safety compliance, DOT/fleet compliance, scheduling, and operational efficiency across multiple active job sites.
This is a highly hands-on leadership role requiring approximately 80% field time and 20% office/administrative work. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who thrives in fast-paced operational environments, is comfortable with significant travel, and can effectively manage distributed field teams while maintaining operational discipline, safety, regulatory compliance, and service excellence.
This individual will directly manage 10–12 field employees and/or frontline supervisors and serve as a key operational leader responsible for execution, accountability, fleet readiness, and team performance.
Essential Responsibilities:
Field Operations Leadership
• Lead and oversee day-to-day vegetation management field operations across multiple active job sites
• Directly manage, coach, develop, and hold accountable 10–12 direct reports
• Conduct frequent field visits, operational audits, jobsite inspections, and crew observations
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company standards
• Monitor work quality, labor productivity, operational performance, and equipment utilization
• Drive employee accountability, performance management, coaching, and corrective actions
• Support hiring, onboarding, workforce development, and employee retention initiatives
Scheduling / Operational Execution
• Coordinate crew scheduling, route planning, staffing coverage, equipment deployment, and work prioritization
• Respond quickly to operational disruptions, weather delays, customer escalations, and field issues
• Partner with leadership to improve workflows, scalability, productivity, and operational execution
• Ensure crews have appropriate tools, equipment, and support resources
DOT Compliance / Fleet Oversight
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, fleet safety requirements, vehicle inspection programs, and transportation compliance standards
• Oversee driver qualification compliance, inspection documentation, maintenance coordination, and operational readiness
• Partner with mechanics, fleet leadership, and operations teams to ensure safe and compliant vehicle/trailer operations
• Monitor trailer usage, towing practices, fleet deficiencies, and compliance corrective actions
• Support audit readiness, documentation management, and transportation safety initiatives
Customer / Client Leadership
• Serve as an operational point of contact for customers, project stakeholders, and internal teams
• Conduct customer field visits and operational walkthroughs as needed
• Resolve operational concerns, service issues, and execution escalations quickly and professionally
• Maintain strong client confidence through visible field leadership and operational responsiveness
Safety & Compliance
• Enforce company safety programs, field procedures, DOT requirements, and regulatory standards
• Conduct safety observations, coaching, incident follow-up, and corrective action management
• Ensure PPE compliance, safe equipment operation, and adherence to operational best practices
• Partner with safety leadership on training, investigations, and field compliance initiatives
Reporting / Administrative Leadership
• Complete workforce reporting, operational documentation, scheduling updates, KPI tracking, and leadership communications
• Maintain strong communication between field teams and corporate leadership
• Support budgeting, labor management, and operational planning activities
Travel / Work Environment
• 80% field / 20% office
• High daily driving time required
• Frequent travel throughout Florida
• Overnight travel required based on project and operational needs
• Ability to work in active outdoor environments, varying weather conditions, and physically demanding field settings
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of field operations leadership experience
• Experience managing distributed field teams in vegetation management, utility services, construction, right-of-way maintenance, or similar operational industries
• Proven experience managing 10+ direct reports
• DOT compliance / fleet operations experience required
• Strong understanding of vehicle safety compliance, inspections, trailer operations, and transportation standards
• Strong leadership, accountability, conflict resolution, and employee coaching skills
• Comfortable spending the majority of time in field operations
• Strong decision-making, prioritization, and operational execution skills
• Excellent communication and organizational capabilities
• Valid driver’s license required
• Clean driving record strongly preferred

• Utility vegetation management experience strongly preferred

Physical Requirements
• Ability to drive for extended periods daily
• Ability to walk job sites, uneven terrain, rights-of-way, and outdoor operational environments
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and actively support field operations
• Ability to work in Florida heat, humidity, rain, and changing weather
