Product Lead, Growth

About Rippling

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

About the role

At Rippling, AI and Growth are becoming inseparable. We’re looking for a Product Lead to define and lead Rippling’s AI and growth motions across the full customer and user lifecycle—spanning product-led growth, self-serve experiences, activation, engagement, and monetization. You’ll define Rippling’s end-to-end AI growth strategy, spanning acquisition, product-led growth, activation, habit formation, expansion, and monetization. Success will require going deep on emerging AI technologies while demonstrating exceptional taste across both product UX and marketing.

This is a highly cross-functional, high-ownership role for a senior product leader who can both set strategy and get deeply hands-on. You’ll build the foundation for how Rippling measures and drives AI usage, create campaigns and product experiences that incentivize adoption, and partner with Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, Account Management, and executive leadership to scale what works across the company. The right person will bring strong product taste, analytical rigor, technical curiosity, and the ability to operate with speed and ambiguity.

The Growth team is responsible for building the systems, product experiences, and motions that help customers discover more value in Rippling. The team works across the company—partnering with product teams, platform teams, marketing, sales, and account management—to turn customer insight and product usage data into scalable growth initiatives.

In this role, you’ll help define a new chapter for Growth at Rippling: building the company-wide motion for AI adoption. You’ll work from the center of the Growth team while influencing how teams across Rippling bring AI-powered experiences to customers and users. This is an opportunity to shape both the strategy and the operating model for one of Rippling’s most important growth areas.

Even if you don’t meet all of the requirements listed here, we still encourage you to apply. Skills can be used in lots of different ways and your life and professional experience may be relevant beyond what a list of requirements will capture

What you will do

  • Define and lead Rippling’s AI growth strategy across the full customer and user lifecycle, including activation, engagement, retention, expansion, and monetization.
  • Build the foundation for how Rippling tracks, understands, and improves AI usage across the platform.
  • Identify high-impact AI growth opportunities by combining customer insight, product intuition, experimentation, and usage data.
  • Design and launch hands-on growth initiatives—campaigns, in-product experiences, widgets, onboarding flows, and self-serve motions—that drive meaningful AI adoption.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Account Management to scale AI growth motions across teams and product surfaces.
  • Translate ambiguous executive and business priorities into a clear roadmap, defensible strategy, and measurable outcomes.
  • Balance strategic leadership with day-to-day execution, moving quickly from insight to experiment to scaled product experience.
  • Help bootstrap and shape the Growth team’s approach to AI, establishing operating rhythms, success metrics, and best practices that can scale across Rippling.

What you will need

  • 10+ years of product management or product-led growth experience, including experience operating at Principal, Lead, or equivalent senior levels.
  • A demonstrated track record of driving growth across customer or user lifecycle motions such as activation, onboarding, engagement, retention, expansion, monetization, or self-serve adoption.
  • Strong fluency in experimentation, analytics, and data-informed decision-making, with the ability to build a defensible rationale for what to prioritize and why.
  • Deep interest in and working knowledge of AI products, AI usage patterns, reasoning models, agents, and how AI capabilities can create new growth loops.
  • Exceptional product taste and customer intuition, with the ability to design experiences for everyday business users—not only highly technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to operate across strategy and execution: setting direction with senior leaders while also getting hands-on to ship campaigns, product experiences, and experiments.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills, including the ability to influence Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, Account Management, and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience in high-growth, high-ambiguity environments where speed, ownership, and scrappiness are required.
  • PLG experience in B2B SaaS, self-serve, prosumer, or hybrid B2B/B2C environments.
  • Experience building or scaling AI adoption, usage, or monetization motions is a strong plus.
  • Backgrounds that combine growth, product, design, marketing, and technical depth are especially relevant.
