Warehouse Operations Manager – Peoria Heights, IL

Schedule: Monday – Friday; full-time, in-office
Hours: 10:00am – 7:00pm; 45-hour workweek minimum
Salary: $70,000 – $80,000

We're Seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager

You'll lead our warehouse operation.

But more importantly—you'll lead the team and systems that keep our entire company moving.

Every delivery, every installation, every retail showroom, and every customer experience starts in the warehouse. When your operation runs well, every other department wins.

You'll build an organized, accountable, and safety-focused team while using technology, data, and clearly defined processes to make the operation better.

We're looking for someone who is equally comfortable leading people on the warehouse floor and digging into an ERP system or report to understand what's really happening.

You don't assume people know what's expected—you make sure they do.

Your team starts every shift with a plan. Your Warehouse Leads know what success looks like. Training is documented, progress is tracked, and follow-up is part of your routine—not an afterthought.

You use data and technology to help manage the operation. You're comfortable learning ERP and warehouse systems, working with reports and spreadsheets, tracking key metrics, and identifying where a process is breaking down.

And when something isn't working, you don't work around the problem forever. You figure out why it's happening, build a better process, and make sure the new standard sticks.

You believe accountability isn't about catching people doing something wrong. It's about setting clear expectations, measuring results, following up, and giving people the coaching and support they need to succeed.

You Build an Operation People Can Count On

• You lead warehouse operations from receiving product through staging for deliveries.
• You ensure products are received, tagged, stored, moved, and prepared accurately.
• You use our ERP and warehouse systems to manage inventory and support accurate processes.
• You monitor operational metrics and use data to identify problems and opportunities.
• You develop and improve processes that create better organization, accuracy, and efficiency.
• You maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized warehouse every day.
• You make sure tomorrow's deliveries are set up for success before your team goes home.

You Lead From the Floor

• You're not leading from behind a desk—but you're comfortable behind a computer when the work requires it.
• You set clear expectations and make sure your Warehouse Leads do the same.
• You coach in the moment and give feedback consistently—not just during reviews.
• You hold people accountable while helping them succeed.
• You follow up. If an expectation isn't being met, you address it rather than allowing it to become the new standard.
• You develop your Leads so they can effectively manage their teams.
• You jump in when your team needs you.
• You lead by example because people do what people see.

You Use Technology and Data to Make Better Decisions

• You're comfortable working in ERP, inventory, or warehouse management systems and learning new technology.
• You understand that system accuracy and physical inventory accuracy have to match.
• You're comfortable using Excel, reports, and operational data to understand what's happening in the warehouse.
• You track meaningful KPIs and use them to manage performance—not simply create reports.
• You look for patterns behind inventory errors, damages, productivity issues, and process breakdowns.
• You work with other departments to improve systems and processes instead of relying on workarounds.
• You're curious about better ways to do the work and comfortable challenging an inefficient process.

You Bring Teams Together

• You understand that the warehouse doesn't operate in a silo.
• You work closely with Delivery, Install, Customer Care, Maintenance, and Retail teams.
• You communicate proactively and solve problems collaboratively.
• You understand your success is measured partly by how well your operation helps other teams succeed.
• You take ownership when something goes wrong and work across departments to prevent it from happening again.

Qualifications

We're less interested in a specific number of years than we are in what you've actually led and improved.

The strongest candidates will bring:

• Meaningful experience leading people in a warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or similarly fast-paced operation.
• Experience directly managing and developing supervisors, leads, or frontline employees.
• Demonstrated ability to set expectations, measure performance, provide feedback, and hold people accountable.
• Experience working with ERP, WMS, inventory management, or similar operational systems.
• Comfort using spreadsheets, reporting tools, and operational data to make decisions.
• Experience improving a process—not simply maintaining one.
• Strong understanding of inventory accuracy, receiving, storage, staging, workflow, and workplace safety.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or additional relevant education preferred.
