
About the role
You will assist members with their mortgage lending needs, describe the benefits of various mortgage products, cross-sell credit union products, process and make loan disbursements.
What you'll do
Evaluate Loan Applications:
· Review borrower information, including income, assets, employment, and credit history to determine the ability to repay the loan.
Risk Assessment:
· Calculate debt-to-income ratios, analyze credit reports, and identify potential financial risks.
Decision Making:
· Approve, deny, or request additional information for loan applications based on thorough analysis.

Compliance and Documentation:
· Ensure all applicants meet lender and government regulations, document decisions, and specify loan conditions as necessary.
Qualifications
Experience:
· One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education:
· A two-year college degree, or
· Completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or
· Completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or
· Job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills:
· This role involves personal contact with others, inside and outside the organization, for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation.
· Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other skills:
· Knowledge of the secondary market and experience with first and second mortgage residential real estate lending.
· Must be able to use general office equipment.
· Must have good communication skills.
