Overview
The HB 1416 Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and implementing all aspects of House Bill 1416 (Accelerated Instruction) to ensure compliance with state requirements and to support improved academic outcomes for identified students. This role includes coordinating intervention services, managing data collection and reporting, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and providing training and support to campus staff. The coordinator will collaborate closely with teachers, interventionists, administrators, and parents to ensure that students receive timely and effective accelerated instruction that is consistent with state mandates. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about educational equity and student success.

Essential Duties

  • Lead the development and implementation of HB 1416 Accelerated Instruction plans across campuses.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with state mandates, including hour requirements, student eligibility, instructional quality, and progress monitoring.
  • Collaborate with teachers, interventionists, counselors, and administrators to design effective accelerated instruction that aligns with TEKS.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of instructional hours, student attendance, and instructional outcomes.
  • Coordinate training and support for instructional staff delivering HB 1416 services.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student participation, progress, and instructional requirements.
  • Prepare reports and submit data as required by TEA or district administration.
  • Stay updated on current laws, policies, and best practices related to HB 1416 and academic interventions.


Knowledge, Skills & Attributes 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in education with demonstrated success in academic interventions, compliance, or instructional leadership.
  • Experience with data analysis, academic planning, and progress monitoring.
  • Familiarity with HB 4545/HB 1416 legislation and TEA compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and state assessment systems.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in using student data systems, spreadsheets, and digital learning platforms.
  • Highly proficient in using educational technology, learning management systems, and virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Google Meet, Zoom).
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a professional home office environment conducive to virtual instruction.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.


Education & Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate required.
  • Administrator certification (Principal or Mid-Management) preferred.
