Stellar Virtual was founded in 2019 with one school in Texas. We serve parents of K-12 students, unhappy with their current school or need an at-home/flexible learning environment. Today, Stellar Virtual spans across three states currently, Arizona, Indiana, and Texas, with developing programs being introduced in new states over the next few years. Overview
As a Secondary Teacher with CTE (Career and Technical Education), you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional virtual education to secondary school students. This position requires experience and knowledge in various career fields, including but not limited to: Graphic Design & Multimedia Art, Accounting & Financial Services, Marketing & Sales, Diagnostic & Therapeutic Services, Teacher & Training, Family & Community Services, Floral Design & Plant Science. This position aligns well with those who have a deep understanding of virtual teaching methodologies, technology integration, and the ability to inspire and engage virtual students.

Essential Duties

  • Develop and adapt curriculum materials that align with state standards and cater to the diverse learning styles and needs of virtual students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive online learning environment, implementing effective strategies for student engagement, participation, and behavior management.
  • Utilize innovative and interactive teaching methods to deliver engaging CTE lessons, incorporating multimedia resources, discussion forums, and collaborative activities during live sessions during scheduled learning activities.
  • Participate in live learning sessions, in addition to preparing recorded learning activities, for all students, with support from the designated Department Chair.
  • Design, administer, and assess student assignments, projects, and exams.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to guide students in their academic progress.
  • Offer additional support and resources to students who may require extra assistance, ensuring that all learners have the opportunity to succeed.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress, addressing concerns, and collaborating on strategies to support student success.
  • Stay informed about best practices in online education, CTE curriculum developments, and virtual teaching methodologies.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.


Knowledge, Skills & Attributes 

  • At least 2 years’ experience teaching in a related subject, preferably in a virtual classroom setting or similar environment.
  • A strong, demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

  • Commitment to data-driven instructional practices.
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technology skills and familiarity with virtual learning platforms.

  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to the virtual learning environment.


Education & Certification Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required; a Master’s is preferred.
  • A valid Iowa teaching license with endorsements in CTE (Speech, Business communications, Floral Design/Plant Science, Family & Community Services, Teacher Training, Diagnostic & Therapeutic Services, Marketing & Sales, Accounting & Finance, and Graphic Design & Multimedia Art) or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI).
