Stellar Virtual does not currently provide all employees or contractors with the necessary equipment (i.e., computers, internet service, telephone, home office setup, etc.) required for employment. Position Overview
Stellar Virtual is seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Teacher for Spanish electives who holds a valid Texas teaching certification. This fully remote position involves delivering high-quality Spanish instruction to middle and high school students, fostering a dynamic and engaging virtual learning environment.
This position is for the current school year, 2024-2025. Future hiring efforts for 2025-2026 will be posted separately when those roles are available.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery:
- Design and implement engaging and interactive Spanish lessons for secondary students.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Integrate technology effectively to enhance language learning in a virtual setting.
Curriculum Development:
- Develop and adapt curriculum materials aligned with state standards and educational best practices.
- Create and administer assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
Student Engagement:
- Foster a supportive and inclusive online classroom environment that encourages student participation and interaction.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their language acquisition and academic growth.
Communication:
- Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support student learning and address any concerns.
- Participate in virtual meetings, professional development sessions, and collaborative planning with the teaching team.
Record Keeping:
- Keep accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
- Prepare and submit reports as required by the school administration.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
- Previous teaching experience in a secondary school setting, preferably in a virtual or online environment.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and virtual learning platforms.
Strong command of the Spanish language and a deep understanding of Spanish culture.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create a positive and engaging online learning environment.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Education & Certification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid Texas teaching certification in Spanish (Grades 6-12).
