Stellar Virtual was founded in 2019 with one school in Texas. We serve parents of K-12 students, unhappy with their current school, or needing an at-home/flexible learning environment. Today, Stellar Virtual has grown to six schools across three states: Texas, Arizona, and Indiana. Stellar Virtual is committed to going above and beyond for our virtual families.

To support your role effectively, we provide a company-issued laptop, equipped with the necessary software, security features, and internal support. Employment with Stellar Virtual is on an at-will basis (only W2 employment types), meaning either the employee or the company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice, subject to applicable laws. Position Overview
The Curriculum Specialist will serve as a vital resource for our teachers, driving improved student outcomes through expert content knowledge, effective instructional strategies, and data-driven decision-making. This role requires a dynamic individual who is passionate about education, adept at analyzing data, and committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The Curriculum & Instruction Specialist will be a leader in content development, professional learning, and instructional support. This position will support educators across all states within Stellar Virtual, ensuring consistent and high-quality content delivery and instructional guidance, while adapting to the unique needs of each campus.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teacher Learning Opportunities:
    • Host and facilitate regular PLCs focused on deepening teacher content knowledge, exploring effective content teaching strategies, and analyzing student content outcomes.
    • Design and deliver targeted learning opportunities for teachers based on data analysis and identified need.
  • Instructional Strategies:
    • Collaborate with educators to implement effective, evidence-based instructional strategies that align with curriculum goals and improve student outcomes.
    • Provide ongoing coaching and professional development to teachers on the use of best instructional practices, tailored to meet diverse student needs.
    • Analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions and continuously refine teaching strategies for optimal learning impact.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:
    • Make informed, data-driven decisions regarding content modifications, resource development, and professional learning opportunities.
  • Content Development and Modification:
    • Responsible for the development, maintenance, and oversight of master course content for each state.  
    • Create content modifications or additional resources to support diverse learners, based on data and student needs.
    • Oversee the development of new courses, either by creating content directly or managing teacher-led content creation.
    • Provide guidance and support to teachers on implementing content accommodations and modifications for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Instructional Observation and Feedback:
    • Conduct informal live instruction observations, focusing on teaching strategies, content delivery, and lesson planning quality.
    • Provide constructive feedback to teachers to enhance their instructional effectiveness.
  • Content Perspective Hiring Support:
    • Support the hiring process by reviewing Jobma interviews and providing content-specific feedback to hiring committees.
  • Communication:
    • Establish and maintain clear communication channels with leadership and teachers, ensuring timely and effective information sharing.


Knowledge, Skills & Attributes 

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a virtual education environment, and at least 2 years of experience in a traditional classroom setting.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to teachers to enhance their content knowledge and instructional practices.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of subject matter content and the platforms used for content delivery
  • Utilize data to inform decisions about content, instruction, and professional development.


Education & Certification Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Education, Business, or a related field is required.
  • A master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction or Instructional Technology is preferred but not required.
  • A valid teaching certificate in the state of residence.
