Job Summary

The Inventory Stock Associate is responsible for accepting and processing incoming retail merchandise, physically transferring inventory from our offices to the Museum, keeping an organized stockroom/backroom, and fulfilling online store orders. This role involves physical labor and requires strong organizational and customer service skills. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Receive retail merchandise and supplies in an orderly and timely fashion. 
  • Review items for shipping damages. 
  • Confirm quantity counts and note any discrepancies.  
  • Process and ship online orders.  
  • Mark and label stock as received.  
  • Participation in semiannual inventories as scheduled in advance. 
  • Manage inventory levels via Shopify. 
  • Ensuring that the storage and back rooms are organized, clean and tidy.

Skills and Qualifications  

  • Prior experience with receiving inventory and order fulfillment.   
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.  
  • Working knowledge of Point-of-Sale systems, especially Shopify. 
  • Ability to lift and move cartons weighing up to 50 pounds. 
  • Comfortable moving inventory from our museum offices to Museum via hand truck. 
  • Ability to work on mornings and weekends required.

Education and Experience 

  • At least 2 years of experience in a retail store or shipping warehouse, prior stockroom experience is a plus.

Physical Demands 

  • Ability to lift and move cartons weighing up to 50 pounds. 
  • Comfortable moving inventory from our museum offices to Museum building via hand truck.

Work Environment 

  • Fast paced environment.

Compensation

$23 per hour

  • This is a part-time position and is considered a non-exempt with 12 hours scheduled per week. 
  • Workdays will be Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays mornings from 8am-12pm. 


Salary is commensurate with experience within the guidelines of a small not-for-profit. A competitive benefits package is provided, including medical, dental, life and long-term disability insurance, a retirement account, and substantial vacation time.
