Truck Driver

About the role

Sutton Salvage is looking for an experienced, dependable Truck Driver to join our team. This position is responsible for safely transporting materials to customers, vendors, and processing facilities within approximately a 100-mile radius. The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial driving, experience operating roll-off trucks and hauling flatbed loads, and takes pride in working safely and independently.

What you'll do

  • Safely operate roll-off trucks and haul materials using flatbed trailers.
  • Transport materials, equipment, and supplies to designated locations.
  • Properly chain and strap loads to ensure safe transportation.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Maintain trucks, trailers, and assigned equipment, including greasing, cleaning, and reporting maintenance concerns.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate transportation documentation and complete deliveries efficiently.
  • Represent Sutton Salvage professionally when interacting with customers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and general operational duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL required.
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial truck driving experience required.
  • Experience operating roll-off trucks and hauling flatbed loads.
  • Ability to properly chain and strap loads.
  • Acceptable driving record.
  • Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities reliably.
  • Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and identify maintenance concerns.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time position.
  • Local and regional travel within approximately 100 miles.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Work in an active industrial recycling environment with trucks, heavy equipment, and material-handling operations.
