At Terra Solar, we’re building more than solar systems—we’re building a smarter, more efficient way to power homes. As a fast-growing residential solar company, our operations depend heavily on data: from how we forecast installations and manage inventory, to how we calculate commissions and report to investors.
We’re at an inflection point where the right data infrastructure will directly shape how we scale. That’s why we’re looking for an Analytics Engineer—someone who doesn’t just work with data, but improves how the entire company uses it.
This isn’t a role where you sit downstream waiting for requests. You’ll be embedded across the business, helping define what we measure, how we measure it, and how confidently we act on it. If you’re excited by messy systems, real operational impact, and the chance to build something from the ground up, you’ll feel right at home here.
This is a hands-on, high-impact position that sits at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and business strategy. You’ll work across the full lifecycle of data—ensuring its quality, modeling it for usability, and turning it into insights that drive real decisions.
You’ll partner closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, translating business needs into scalable data solutions while helping establish the foundation for a strong data culture.
Your work will range from building reliable data models and pipelines to designing forecasting tools, commissions logic, and executive-level reporting. Over time, your impact should make it easier for teams to trust data—and eventually, answer their own questions without friction.
Strengthening Data Foundations
You’ll own data quality end-to-end. That means validating data across multiple sources (internal systems, APIs, bulk uploads), identifying inconsistencies, and working upstream to fix root causes—not just symptoms.
You’ll help turn fragmented, legacy reporting logic into structured, reusable data models that improve performance, clarity, and scalability.
Building the Analytics Layer
You’ll design and maintain SQL-based data models and pipelines that power reporting across the business—from operational dashboards to executive metrics.
You’ll build reporting that tracks key dimensions like project throughput, regional performance, pipeline velocity, and financial metrics—ensuring stakeholders always have access to reliable, timely insights.
Driving Operational & Financial Insights
You’ll develop core business logic that directly impacts how we operate—like forecasting models for project pipelines, tools for sales commission calculations, and processes supporting investor reporting and disbursements.
This isn’t theoretical analysis—your work will influence how we plan cash flow, allocate resources, and scale operations.
Collaborating Across the Business
You’ll act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams—working with IT, operations, finance, and leadership to define requirements and deliver solutions that actually get used.
You won’t just respond to requests—you’ll help shape them, asking better questions and guiding teams toward more effective use of data.
Shaping Data Culture & Strategy
You’ll play a key role in defining how data is managed and used across Terra Solar—establishing best practices around governance, documentation, and data accessibility.
You’ll also contribute to decisions around tooling and architecture, balancing immediate needs with long-term scalability.
You’re someone who thrives in environments where not everything is defined yet—and sees that as an opportunity, not a blocker.
You’re comfortable switching between technical work and business context, and you care just as much about how data is used as how it’s built.
You likely:
And just as importantly:
Experience in solar, construction, utilities, or similar industries is a plus—but not required.
We’re a fast-moving, growing company—so things won’t always be perfectly structured. But that’s also where the opportunity is. You’ll have real ownership, direct access to decision-makers, and the ability to shape how data supports the business as we scale.
We value people who are pragmatic, resourceful, and focused on impact. That means shipping solutions that work, improving them over time, and always keeping the business outcome in mind.
This role is for someone who wants to go beyond dashboards and queries. Someone who sees data as infrastructure, not just output.
If you’re excited about building systems, improving how a company operates, and having a direct impact on growth—this is that kind of role.
