About the role
Uncommon Goods is seeking Seasonal Artwork Customizers to join our remote team as independent contractors from late September through the end of December. In this role, you’ll customize existing digital artwork templates for individual customer orders, using Photoshop and Illustrator to add and modify text and images according to customer specifications.
This is a detail-oriented production role that requires a high level of accuracy, consistency, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment. The position will start at approximately 8 -16 hours per week, with hours increasing as holiday orders ramp up, potentially reaching up to 40 hours per week. Additional availability is a plus.
What you'll do
As a Seasonal Artwork Customizer, you will modify existing artwork templates to create personalized products for our customers. You’ll follow established processes and specifications to accurately customize artwork, prepare final files for production, and review your work for quality and accuracy.
The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, comfortable with repetitive production work, and able to maintain accuracy and productivity as order volume increases.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Customize existing digital artwork templates with customer-provided text and images.
- Follow established design specifications and processes when modifying artwork.
- Carefully review personalization for spelling, punctuation, placement, sizing, and other details.
- Prepare, save, organize, and submit final digital files for production.
- Make revisions and corrections as needed.
- Maintain accuracy and productivity while working with high volumes of orders.
- Communicate effectively with the team through Slack, email, and other remote collaboration tools.
- Work independently while meeting established deadlines and quality expectations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Extremely strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to follow detailed instructions and established processes consistently.
- Comfortable with repetitive, detail-focused production work.
- Able to work efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Reliable and able to commit to an agreed-upon schedule.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable learning new tools, processes, and workflows.
- Experience with personalized artwork or production artwork a plus.
- Familiarity with Slack, Microsoft Outlook, Asana is a plus.
Seasonal Details
- Employment Type: This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not an employee role.
- Pay: $25.00 /hour
- Schedule: Starts at approximately 8–16 hours per week, with hours increasing as holiday orders ramp up.
- Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday between 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
- Training: Begins late September
- Peak holiday availability: Additional availability, including some weekends, is required during the peak holiday period (November 15 - December 25).
- Location: Remote. Candidates must be located in New York, Florida, or Texas. NYC-area candidates are preferred but not required.
- Equipment: Must have your own computer (Mac preferred) with sufficient memory to work with large files, reliable high-speed internet, and video capabilities for virtual meetings and training.
- Assessment: A recorded skills assessment test is required.
