Production Technician

The Production Technician — also referred to as a Batch Maker — plays a critical hands-on role in the manufacture and packaging of Quadex protective coatings and infrastructure rehabilitation products. Working closely with the Production Lead, this position is responsible for accurately weighing, mixing, and compounding materials according to strict batch record formulas and standard operating procedures (SOPs), while maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant production environment.

 

This is a physically active, warehouse-based role requiring attention to detail, consistent adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to operate equipment including forklifts and drum handling machinery.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Batching & Compounding

     Accurately weigh, mix, and dispense materials in the types and amounts specified by the batch record formula.

     Assist the Production Lead throughout the batching and compounding process, monitoring for abnormal conditions and reporting any issues promptly to the Supervisor.

     Identify and label all containers, vessels, and processing equipment with the correct product and batch information.

     Verify that all labels and quantities match the batch record formula prior to processing.

     Document all process steps accurately in accordance with batch record formulas and SOPs.

     Prepare equipment for the next production run, including performing size changes and equipment changeovers as needed.

 

Packaging, Fulfillment & Shipping

     Package finished coatings and products into appropriate containers in accordance with fulfillment specifications.

     Assemble and verify customer orders from stock; place completed orders on pallets, shelves, or designated holding and shipping areas.

     Open bales, crates, and other raw material containers as required for production.

     Load and unload raw materials and compounded batches safely and efficiently.

 

Quality Assurance & Inventory

     Collect required samples at designated points in the production process for Quality Assurance testing.

     Assist in periodic physical inventory counts, ensuring accurate records of stock on hand.

     Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area at all times in compliance with safety standards.

 

Equipment Operation & Safety

     Operate forklift and drum handling equipment safely and in accordance with company training (forklift training provided).

     Wear all required PPE in designated areas at all times, including during safe chemical handling procedures.

     Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

     Maintain regular and reliable attendance; perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

     Must be at least 18 years of age.

     High School Diploma or GED required.

     Must have reliable transportation.

     Ability and willingness to operate a forklift (training will be provided).

     Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including batch record formulas and SOPs, with a high degree of accuracy.

     Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.

     Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

     Prior experience in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.

     Familiarity with batch manufacturing, chemical compounding, or coating production processes.

     Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

     Prior forklift certification or experience operating drum handling equipment.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

This is a physically demanding role performed primarily in a warehouse/manufacturing setting with some outdoor exposure during the workday. Standard warehouse equipment including hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers is routinely used.

 

     Extensive standing and walking throughout the full shift.

     Repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs; bending, climbing, and twisting as required.

     Must be able to wear all required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, and appropriate footwear at all times in designated areas.

     Exposure to chemical compounds; safe handling training and PPE will be provided.

 

SCHEDULE & HOURS

 

This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Some overtime, shift work, or weekend hours may be required based on production demand. Flexibility is expected.
