Job Purpose

We are looking for a hands-on, people-focused Supervisor of NPI Operation who is excited about technology, developing teams, and continuously improving how products are built.

This role goes beyond traditional production supervision. In addition to leading day-to-day manufacturing operations, you will work closely with NPI and engineering teams to provide manufacturing feedback and help develop new production processes. You will have the opportunity to support manufacturing lines that incorporate cutting-edge technologies such as 3D printing, automation, and advanced inspection systems.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to both the people and the technology of manufacturing and wants to play an active role in building and improving manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and organize the day-to-day activities of a manufacturing team, ensuring priorities, responsibilities, and production objectives are clearly communicated.
  • Create a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment while maintaining strong standards for safety, quality, delivery, and operational execution.
  • Develop team members through hands-on coaching, training, feedback, and ongoing employee development.
  • Effectively organize people and work across the shift, including resource allocation, daily priorities, escalation management, and shift handovers.
  • Partner closely with NPI and engineering teams to provide manufacturing feedback and help design, develop, launch, and improve new manufacturing processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, workflows, quality, efficiency, and team effectiveness.
  • Encourage operators and technicians to identify problems and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Support the introduction and scaling of advanced manufacturing technologies, including 3D printing, automation, and advanced inspection systems.
  • Develop a practical understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes in order to effectively support the team and collaborate with technical partners.
  • Help establish and continuously improve standard work, operating procedures, training practices, and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, NPI, and other partners to resolve production issues and support successful product launches.
  • Communicate clearly across shifts and functions to ensure priorities, issues, and actions are understood and followed through.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • A minimum of 2 years of managing a team of manufacturing professionals.
  • Experience leading a team within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing multiple product industries with rigorous quality standards.
  • Experience participating in manufacturing process development, continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, or operational excellence initiatives.
  • Self-motivated, hands-on, with a practical mindset, and capable of setting and reaching ambitious goals.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite Software, ERP Systems (EPICOR), Outlook, and others as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with NPI, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, quality, or other technical teams.
  • Exposure to launching or scaling new manufacturing processes or production lines.
  • Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies such as additive manufacturing/3D printing, automation, robotics, or advanced inspection systems.
