Industrial Pallet Corp.

Maintenance Fabricator

Who We Are

We’re On a Mission

At IPC, we don't just manufacture pallets - we build teams, communities, and partnerships that last. Our mission is simple: to be the* TEAM of CHOICE* for our PEOPLE and PARTNER of CHOICE for our* CUSTOMERS*. We are driven by operational excellence, safety, and the belief that strong leadership and strong culture go hand-in-hand.

What You'll Do

Join the Maintenance team as the fabricator/welder responsible for safely and strategically responding to equipment needs, fabricating and repairing components, and minimizing production downtime by helping return equipment to operation as quickly and effectively as possible. You'll work closely with Maintenance, Production, balancing urgency with safety, quality workmanship, effective communication, and long-term equipment reliability.

What We're Looking For

Responsibilities

Safety & Downtime Response Make safety the first priority in every repair, fabrication, welding, and maintenance activity (PPE, lockout/tagout, hot-work, confined-space, and other plant procedures). Respond quickly to breakdowns and urgent maintenance needs, prioritizing work by safety risk, production impact, and urgency. Evaluate each problem strategically to find the fastest safe path to restore operation, communicate clearly with Maintenance and Production leadership on status and timing, and look beyond the immediate fix to address root causes and prevent repeat failures.

Fabrication & Welding Fabricate, repair, and modify metal parts, structures, brackets, guards, and equipment components using welding (MIG, TIG, and/or Arc), cutting, grinding, and machining tools. Balance speed and workmanship, verify fit and function before returning parts to service, and clearly communicate any follow-up work required after a temporary repair. Ensure welds are structurally sound and visually inspected, and correct defects promptly.

Preventive Maintenance & Planning Support PM schedules by fabricating and repairing parts before they cause breakdowns. Use run time and planned downtime to prepare parts, materials, and tools in advance, and flag repeat repair needs or equipment weaknesses to Maintenance leadership.

Blueprints, Measurements & Problem Solving Interpret drawings, blueprints, sketches, and measurements to produce parts to spec, verifying dimensions and tolerances to reduce rework. Apply practical problem-solving when drawings are unavailable and ask for clarification rather than risk an unsafe or incorrect part.

Tools, Equipment & Materials Safely operate welding machines, cutting torches, grinders, presses, lathes, and related tools; inspect equipment before use and report defects promptly. Keep tools and supplies organized and ready, estimate material needs accurately, minimize waste, and return items to proper storage after use.

Documentation & Communication Maintain work orders in Fiix, and maintenance records, documenting work performed, materials used, and follow-up needs in a timely manner. Escalate safety, equipment, quality, or material concerns immediately, and ensure work orders are properly closed out.

Housekeeping & Teamwork Maintain a clean, organized, hazard-free work area. Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, maintenance, and production teams to prioritize urgent needs, and demonstrate IPC Core Values (Attitude, Respect, Effort) as a team leader who supports a safety-first, uptime-focused, solutions-oriented culture.

Ideal Candidate

  • Skilled in MIG, TIG, and/or Arc welding with the ability to produce structurally sound, application-appropriate welds
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and measurements to fabricate parts to spec
  • Experienced operating welding machines, cutting torches, grinders, presses, and lathes safely
  • Strong sense of urgency paired with unwavering commitment to safety and quality workmanship
  • Clear communicator who works well across maintenance, office and production teams
  • Demonstrates IPC Core Values — Attitude, Respect, and Effort — and takes ownership of documentation, follow-up, and housekeeping

Work Environment

This role requires 24/7 accessibility by phone. Flexibility for extended hours, off-shift coverage, or weekend work is expected based on Plant needs. Work is performed in an active production/maintenance environment, including emergency breakdown response and high-pressure downtime situations, requiring strict adherence to plant safety procedures at all times.
