About the role
- We are seeking a passionate and innovative IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) English Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will deliver dynamic, inquiry-based lessons aligned with the IB MYP framework, fostering a deep appreciation for literature, language, and communication. This role emphasizes critical thinking, global perspectives, and interdisciplinary connections, preparing students to engage meaningfully with the world around them.
What you'll do
- Curriculum Implementation: Develop and deliver inquiry-based lessons that align with the IB PYP framework, focusing on transdisciplinary themes and promoting the development of critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills in young learners.
- Student Engagement: Create a stimulating, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages active participation, curiosity, and a passion for learning.
- Assessment and Reporting: Utilize both formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and report to parents and guardians.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and implement the curriculum, exchange best practices, and engage in ongoing professional development.
- Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a respectful, safe, and orderly classroom environment that fosters positive student behavior and supports learning.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Embrace and celebrate diversity, promoting global awareness and intercultural understanding among students.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching certification/license (required).
- Experience with IB MYP or a strong understanding of inquiry-based learning and concept-driven instruction (preferred).
- Proficiency in student-centered, discussion-based teaching methods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
