The Role

We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join Esper and build impactful features across both UI and backend systems. In this role, you’ll own end-to-end development of features, collaborate closely with Product and Design, and deliver scalable solutions that power our device management platform. You’ll have the opportunity to experiment with AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate development and productivity.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain high-performance backend services, APIs, and distributed systems that handle millions of device interactions daily.
• Work across the full stack, building robust backend services as well as intuitive web applications and dashboards that our customers rely on.
• Collaborate with the Product, Design, and Customer facing team to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, design scalable solutions, and help shape our technical roadmap.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, establish best practices, and mentor junior engineers.
• Experiment with AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity.

Experience level:

• 4+ years of software development experience
• Experience building and maintaining production systems
• Previous experience in a senior individual contributor role

Required:

• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Go, TypeScript, React preferred)
• Experience with relational databases and SQL
• Understanding of system design principles and distributed systems
• Experience with web development frameworks and APIs 
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Demonstrate proficiency with AI-assisted development tools and best practices
