About the role

The HR Specialist plays a key role in delivering an exceptional employee experience across the full HR lifecycle. This role supports HR operations, onboarding, performance management, benefits administration, and employee engagement, with a primary focus on India HR processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable balancing high-quality execution with strong employee support. This role reports to the Director of Operations and partners closely with Finance and cross-functional teams.


What you'll do

Employee Onboarding and Lifecycle Management

  • Onboarding Execution: Facilitate the comprehensive new joiner onboarding process, ensuring a positive experience for all employees.
  • HRIS Management: Maintain and update employee information in HR databases and trackers, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and timely creation of employee IDs.
  • Documentation: Prepare and issue all employee lifecycle letters, including offer letters, confirmation letters, transfer letters, and other HR-related documents.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors for background checks, track progress, and handle vendor invoice verification and timely processing of payments related to HR operations.


Performance Management

  • Cycle Administration: Administer the company's performance management cycle (goal setting, mid-year check-ins, and annual reviews).
  • Guidance and Support: Serve as a subject matter expert, providing expert guidance and coaching to managers and employees on performance processes, tools, and developmental conversations.
  • L&D Programs: Create, develop, implement, and conduct targeted training and development programs for employees and managers based on assessed needs.


Policy, Compliance, And HR Operations (India Focus)

  • Compliance & Reporting: Support HR audits, compliance documentation, and the preparation of key HR reports (e.g., headcount, turnover, benefits utilization).
  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Indian labor law and statutory compliance (e.g., EPF, ESI, Gratuity, Shops and Establishments Act, etc.).
  • Payroll Processing: Own the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment in compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Benefits (GMI Focus): Oversee the administration of the Group Medical Insurance (GMI) and other statutory and non-statutory benefits, managing vendor relations and claims support.


Employee Engagement and Culture Development

  • Engagement Strategy: Develop and implement an Employee Engagement strategy and solutions that support organizational transformation and cultural objectives.
  • Survey Management: End-to-end manage annual employee engagement surveys, analyze results, and drive follow-up action planning.
  • Recognition Programs: Devise and run various Recognition and Reward (R&R) programs and initiatives to enhance employee camaraderie.
  • Employee Champion: Serve as the single point of contact for employees regarding concerns, ensuring effective and timely addressing of employee grievances.


Requirements

Experience

4-6 years of HR Generalist experience


Industry Preference

Experience in product, SaaS preferred


Education

Bachelor's degree required; MBA in HR preferred.


Domain Knowledge

Strong understanding of HR operations, employee engagement, and performance management.


Compliance

Extensive, practical knowledge of Indian labor law and statutory compliance (EPF, ESI, GMI administration, etc.).


Key Skills

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
