Job Summary
Operate Amada Laser, cutting sheet metal from 16ga to 7ga, and plate steel from ¼” to ¾” thickness into standard products to include all specials, small parts, and templates needed by production teams. The Laser Operator will use whichever tooling is needed to complete the job, ensuring gauge and surface finish of all products reflect finish called out on blueprints, oral instructions or shop drawings and applicable quality specifications.
Essential Duties
· Perform all duties in a safe manner and promotes “Safety First” mentality across team
· Read and understand Operation Manual relating to tool selection and machine routine maintenance
· Set up and adjust Laser for any features called out on Laser program
· Utilize machine computer to retrieve programs and load according to drawings and CAD/CAM files
· Cleans work area, machines, tools and equipment
· Accurately fill out and submit all paperwork
· Other duties as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
· Strong understanding of shop math, units of measurement, etc
· Ability to read and interpret prints, specs, diagrams, etc
· Strong attention to detail
Required / Preferred Education & Experience
· High-school diploma or equivalent
· 3-4 years of experience operating Amada laser or similar
· Certification from a technical school preferred
Supervisory Duties
None.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position operates in an active manufacturing facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Use of standard office equipment is necessary, and the employee will need to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
The pay range for this role is:
23 - 28 USD per hour (ESS Metron - Denver, CO)
