The Expeditor is a critical position important to the overall flow of material between departments, ensuring raw material and parts are delivered correctly to the appropriate shop personnel. Actual duties will depend on prior experience.

Essential Duties
Expeditor I

·         Perform all duties in a safe manner and promotes “Safety First” mentality across team.

·         Organize, stage, and deliver materials to designated production areas to prevent work stoppages.

·         Move materials using material handling equipment, i.e. hand truck, pallet trucks, and forklifts (after certification).

·         Verify and audit incoming production kits shipments against documentation (bills of lading, invoices) to check for accuracy and damage.

·         Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work area, adhering to all company safety standards.

·         Perform basic data entry to record production information and material movement in company systems.

·         Communicate with team leads, supervisors, and managers regarding material status, potential shortages, or delays.

·         All duties assigned by direct lead, supervisors, or managers.

Expeditor II

·         Perform all duties in a safe manner and promotes “Safety First” mentality across team.

·         Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials and parts between departments according to production schedules and priorities.

·         Review production schedules and work orders to determine material requirements and identify potential shortages or backlogs.

·         Compile and prepare documentation related to production sequences, shipping, and material status reports.

·         Act as a liaison between operations, purchasing, and warehouse departments to ensure seamless coordination and communication.

·         Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counting and reconciling discrepancies.

·         Communicate with team leads, supervisors, and managers regarding material status, potential shortages, or delays.

·         All duties assigned by direct lead, supervisors, or managers.

Expeditor III

·         Perform all duties in a safe manner and promotes “Safety First” mentality across team.

·         Manage and prioritize expediting tasks for assigned project jobs and ensure all parts are inventoried and delivered along with communicating remaining open BOM items.

·         Develop and implement material management and control plans and procedures to optimize inventory levels and workflow efficiency.

·         Analyze capacity constraints and collaborate with department managers and production planning to balance workloads and resources.

·         Provide regular, detailed updates and progress reports to management and key stakeholders regarding WIP BOM status and potential project risks.

·         Mentor junior expediters and support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain and operations.

·         Communicate with supervisors, and managers regarding material status, potential shortages, or delays.

·         All duties assigned by direct lead, supervisors, or managers.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

·         Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.

·         Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Required / Preferred Education & Experience

·         High school diploma or equivalent.

Supervisory Duties

None.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position operates in an active manufacturing facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may need to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

The pay range for this role is:

20.50 - 28 USD per hour (ESS Metron - Denver, CO)
