Position Overview – Associate Director, Office of the President (New York)

Eurasia Group is seeking an Associate Director of Analyst Speaking Engagements in the Office of the President to manage and expand the company’s speaking portfolio and broader mission of helping people understand the world around them. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the international relations landscape, a proven track record of client relationship management, and knowledge of the speaking and events industry. This role is based in Eurasia Group’s New York office.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the firm’s primary external point of contact in liaising with speaking bureaus, speaking engagement prospects and clients, event managers, and talent agencies on their speaker needs. This includes both responding to inbound inquiries and – in time – proactively checking in with events and conference organizers.
  • Work in close coordination with the Office of the President, Communications team, and analysts across the company to build strong pitches, speaker kits (including sample speech topics, biographies, pricing), and public-facing profiles for Eurasia Group’s priority speakers.
  • Work with Eurasia Group’s business line leads and account managers to ensure seamless and consistent coordination across all speaking engagement inquiries and give business line leads advanced notice of confirmed speaker trips in priority locations
  • Draft decision memos with recommendations tied to the speaker’s deployment strategy
  • Negotiate, contract, and execute speaking agreements; process contracts in CRM software, and work with the speaker and their support staff on event execution (coordinating prep calls, prepare briefing package, travel and post-trip logistics, etc.)
  • Develop a strong understanding of Eurasia Group’s expert roster and seamlessly integrate new members of the firm onto the speaking platform; remain up to date on the firm’s analytical coverage and proactively suggest marketing assets, topics, and framing of the events to the client.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, political science, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in either the events industry or in a business function, with a focus on international relations
  • Prior experience with events, marketing, talent management, and prospecting + pitching
  • Negotiation and contracting experience
  • Knowledge of CRM software
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency, discretion and professionalism – and to work both independently and as part of broader teams
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Must be familiar with speaking industry and have relationships with events professionals and speaking bureaus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to learn priorities of multiple speakers and teams
  • Excellent relationship, people and project management skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced client-oriented environment
  • Must be comfortable operating in a global environment with key stakeholders dispersed across multiple geographies
  • Must be eligible for employment in the United States and available to work in Eurasia Group’s New York City office.
