Position Overview
We are seeking an Associate-level candidate to join our Global Environment & Sustainability (GES) Practice. This role is ideal for someone with 2-3 years of experience looking to enhance their expertise in advisory sales at the intersection of sustainability and global politics.

The core focus of this role is to retain and nurture Eurasia Group’s client base by delivering exceptional service and solutions on sustainability policy issues. Responsibilities include managing client accounts, overseeing projects delivered by the GES Practice, and providing leadership and support in organizing Practice-led events. The role also involves supporting strategic initiatives for the business.

The ideal candidate should be highly organized, efficient, an excellent communicator and collaborator, comfortable with daily client interactions, and adept at managing multiple priorities across time zones.

We require a candidate who is comfortable with a fast-moving, changing, small-company environment; someone who can deal with ambiguity and a lack of formal structures. We need someone who is low-ego, a team player, and someone who focuses on solving problems.

The Associate will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of sustainability-related political risks and market developments (on a multi-region basis) to engage with and provide value to clients; develop deep client relationships with a primary focus on end-user clients.
  • Create and build in-depth strategic account plans and provide support to the Practice’s leadership in strategy planning (including new business pipeline).
  • Develop a strong understanding of Eurasia Group's business and become an expert in how political risks and sustainability issues fit into clients’ corporate priorities and risk process.
  • Work closely and effectively with analysts, strategy teams, and all pillars of the firm as a value-added partner.
  • Maintain the client servicing tracker, ensuring deliverables are tracked and managed effectively.
  • Serve as a point of contact for cross-team coordination on multifaceted projects, ensuring alignment of actions.
  • Create project documents such as schedules, requirements, deliverables, and stakeholder reviews to ensure successful execution.
  • Maintain a comprehensive record of all client services documents, including funder letters, sales contracts, and project proposals.
  • Support other team leaders in sustainability-related project management across the firm.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to streamline business operations for improved efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 years prior experience in a client-facing role with experience and knowledge of multiple client types.
  • Prior experience in a sales, advisory role and/or consulting with proven ability to monetize a differentiated research and advisory offering across wide range of client type preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication/presentation, and writing skills.
  • Demonstrable interest in sustainability and environmental policy issues.
  • Must be a self-starter with a strong team focused mindset, problem-solving skills and high attention to details.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced work environment.
  • Highly organized, system-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with proven experience in a coordinator role.
  • Bachelor's degree required; relevant certifications or further education are a clear plus.
  • Have the legal right to work in Kenya

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
