SENIOR SERVICES COORDINATOR

NATURE OF WORK:
Under the direction of the Guest Experience Manager, the Senior Services Supervisor is responsible for developing, overseeing and implementing the District’s active adult and senior services facilities and programs. This new position includes developing, creating, and implementing materials, website, social media, advertising, and communications, both internally and externally. This person must be strategic as well as hands-on in carrying out EPRD’s goals and objectives. This person will be responsible for District projects by guiding resources from beginning to end and meeting necessary deadlines. The position is considered an hourly position with a high degree of responsibility and autonomy for the strategy development and means of methods to achieve final production of the essential job duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Screen seniors for risk factors in activities of daily living; work to reduce social isolation and unsafe living conditions with the ability to connect to other key agencies.
· Notify local police and fire departments and human service providers as necessary for the safety and well-being of the individual.
· Utilize and solicit donations of funds, services and goods to help meet needs.
· Work cooperatively in joint planning, program and resource development with members of the Senior Services team and outside agencies and providers.
· Collect, maintain, and report data to support and monitor program accomplishments, partnership agreements, and evaluate effectiveness of service.
· Research, prepare and present a variety of verbal, written and visual information materials, including brochures, reports, demonstrations and exhibits that enhance public awareness of resources.
· Coordinate the individual wellness function of the Senior Services Program including massage, fitness, therapy, and other individualized programs and services.
· Develop and maintain contractor relationships for these services.
· Coordinate rooms, supplies and support for these programs with the Senior Services team.
· Responsible for the success of these programs by evaluating and improving accordingly.
· Responsible for the opening and/or closing of the Senior Center (Bristlecone Lounge) as assigned.
· Participate in maintaining the cleanliness, safety and security of the Center, as assigned.
· Assist in the set-up and take-down of classes and programs.
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with departments, community organizations, the public, coworkers, and supervisors.
· Participate in resource fairs and related community events.
· Perform related work as assigned by supervisor.
· Collaborate with internal teams to promote programs and services.
· Coordinate and produce a multi-page publications and promotional materials including creation, initial concepts/design files.
· Direct sponsorship strategy and cultivate long-term relationships with community partners.
· Serve as department spokesperson and senior liaison for the District.
· Manage department budget and assess ROI for marketing campaigns and events.
· Organize, manage, and/or support events, activities, initiatives, local store marketing, and campaigns. This includes developing evaluation methods and analytical tools to gauge the success and effectiveness of each initiative.
· Collaborate with cross-functional departments/teams to build consistent messaging throughout the District and
to develop individual marketing plans to generate business, maintain/build patron frequency and loyalty, analyze competition, maintain and enhance the District’s image in the community, promote new services/programs, and raise awareness.
· Responsible for creating content for social media by incorporating articles, pictures, videos, and other relevant information to the patrons.
· Responsible for email marketing, including content, newsletters, and e-blasts.
· Develop key relationships with vendors, community leaders, businesses, and others to develop business opportunities, sponsorships, and enhance communications.
· Analyze and identify process gaps while making recommendations to improve to help overall programs and services offered through the District.
MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
· Supervision of volunteers and full-time transportation specialist.
· Work with Marketing to assist with planning marketing events to promote the community.
· Participate with the Guest Experience Manager in developing a budget for the department.
· Foster family and community support of the activity program (e.g., through newsletters, networking, and activities that bring family members or community members into the facility, etc.).
· Contribute to the community's efforts to maintain and/or improve the quality of care through participation.
· Coordinate the transportation of residents to and from events outside of the community, which will include driving a District vehicle.
· Supervises, schedules, and monitors all assigned facilities used for purposes of assigned programming rented, owned, or leased by the District for Senior and active adult programming.
· Serves as lead administrator for senior programs module in Activenet and manages online and in-person registration processes. Works collaboratively with the Guest Services to achieve greater functionality and ease of use for staff and participants.
· Directly supervises all senior services program volunteers and full-time transportation specialists.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
· Help generate revenue through sponsorships, Events, and advertisements.
· Maintain consistent relationships between all EPRD entities, ensuring accurate marketing information is distributed on a regular basis.
· Attend community events such as Evergreen Lake Concerts, senior events to help promote EPRD parks, facilities, activities and programs.
· Prepare articles to be placed to promote and benefit EPRD in the community.
· Direct oversight of all life-enrichment activities, outings, and programs, centered around the residents' needs within and outside the community.
· Create and lead arts, crafts, music, drama, educational, and exercise activities.
· Prepare a monthly newsletter and calendar of activities using your creativity and photography skills.
· Hire, train, and supervise volunteers.

· Proficiency in business applications/software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, etc.
· Activity Planning: Dream up and organize a variety of fun activities, from group outings to in-room entertainment for our bed-bound residents.
· Community Involvement: Get involved in community planning and represent our facility in a positive light.
· Transportation Coordination: Support the transportation specialist in the coordination of transportation to ensure they never miss out on the fun.
ABILITIES
· As the Senior Service Supervisor, you’ll be the mastermind behind our vibrant activity program. Your mission is to create exciting and meaningful experiences that cater to the interests and needs of our community.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to a variety of audiences, including the district as a whole.
· Prepares and coordinates marketing and promotional materials for publication in brochures and flyers to provide information and promote interest in assigned programs to members and participants of the Evergreen community.
· Ability to use Specialized equipment related to assigned programs like ADA van lifts, aquatic lifts, and specialized fitness equipment.
· Documentation: Keep detailed and engaging records of all activities and users responses.
· All documentation must be completed to the DRCOG standards. Must get trained to complete all required paperwork.
REQUIRED TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology or related human services field required.
· Three years (3) of experience in Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, human services, senior programming, life enrichment programming, or a combination of experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the functions of the position.
· Preferred Two years of experience with creating and implementing Senior population programs.
· Must operate a District vehicle
· Must obtain CDL drivers license within 3 months of hiring.
· Must have valid CPR and first aid certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
· Must get trained in DRCOG paperwork management to be compliant in all required paperwork.
