We are a growing software company based in Vancouver, WA with a cloud SaaS solution. We're currently the top business software in the Pool, Hot Tub, and Hearth industries - and looking to grow well beyond that in the years to come.

The Engineering Manager leads, guides, and grows the software engineering team, ensuring alignment with company goals and delivering scalable, high-quality software. This position oversees the daily activities of engineers, promotes best practices, and drives continuous improvement in processes and technical execution. Collaboration with Product Managers, Product Owners, engineers, and stakeholders is essential to achieve business and technical objectives. The Engineering Manager is also responsible for assuring that the engineering roadmap stays on track, maintaining transparency, and driving the timely delivery of key milestones. Success in this role requires strong leadership, technical acumen, effective communication, and a proven ability to meet deadlines.



Here’s what you’ll be doing day to day:


  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Maintain individual goals for direct reports and guide career development through measurable processes. 
  • Partner with Product Manager and Product Owners to plan, execute, and track progress against the engineering roadmap, ensuring priorities and timelines are met.
  • Monitor progress across initiatives, identify risks or blockers early, and implement strategies to keep roadmap commitments on schedule.
  • Work with product owners to analyze wireframes for new feature requests and assist with estimating technical effort.
  • Communicate regularly with product owners and stakeholders to clarify business requirements and align development priorities.
  • Own and maintain development documentation in Confluence, including best practices, coding standards, and feature documentation.
  • Enforce code review policies and collaborate with engineers to ensure quality, consistency, and maintainability of code.
  • Conduct architecture and database schema reviews to validate performance and scalability.
  • Maintain accuracy of the team’s Jira board by reviewing estimates, updating tasks, and ensuring progress tracking.
  • Lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies, promoting collaboration and efficiency across teams.
  • Organize meetings to discuss technical strategy, development challenges, and process improvements.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews with direct reports.
  • Assist engineers in setting measurable goals and removing roadblocks.
  • Participate in new engineer onboarding and contribute to onboarding and training materials.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks (React, Laravel), and industry methodologies, including advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and automation that could improve product functionality or development efficiency.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.


Required Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining SaaS applications in cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (C#, Java, PHP, or JavaScript).
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and data modeling.
  • Demonstrated success managing engineering roadmaps and delivering projects on time — proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and grow engineering talent.
  • Awareness of emerging trends in AI and automation and how they can enhance engineering efficiency.


Preferred Education and Experience


  • Familiarity with Mendix and Mendix testing.
  • Experience building React applications.
  • Experience with specialty retail or field service businesses
  • Experience with business logic and processes
  • Experience with data systems.
  • Experience with data reporting systems.
  • Strong Leadership and team building skills.

This position works from our corporate headquarters in Vancouver, Washington in a professional office environment. Evosus is easily accessible, located less than a mile from I-5. We are across the street from a natural grocery store, a brewery, and many local restaurants.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:


This is a full-time position and workdays are Monday through Friday. The employee may be required to work additional hours for system down emergencies or after hour releases.

  • $130,000-$150,000 annually. The hired applicant will be offered pay within the compensation range based on their qualifications and professional experience, as well as the needs of our business.

The pay range for this role is:
