Overview

Shape the legal foundation of a high-growth SaaS company.

We’re looking for a Head of Legal to build and lead Evotix’s in-house legal function as we scale globally and prepare for a private equity exit. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a commercially minded lawyer who can balance risk with opportunity—helping us move fast while staying compliant and protected.

You’ll own all legal, contractual, and governance matters, partnering closely with the Executive Team, Board, and investors to guide strategic decisions. If you thrive in fast-paced, global environments and want to shape the legal backbone of a purpose-driven tech business, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact.

What You'll Do

Commercial & Contracting

  • Lead all contract negotiations with customers, suppliers, partners, and resellers.
  • Enhance and maintain standard contract templates and playbooks for SaaS and professional services.
  • Support international commercial expansion (UK, US, Australia, and new markets).
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Finance to streamline contract execution.

Corporate & Governance

  • Oversee corporate governance across all entities (UK, US, Australia).
  • Manage Board processes, shareholder agreements, and filings.
  • Support due diligence, investment rounds, and potential PE exit or M&A transactions.
  • Liaise with external counsel as required.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with data protection, privacy, and information security obligations (e.g., GDPR, UK Data Protection Act, CCPA).
  • Oversee compliance framework in coordination with Finance, Compliance, and IT Security teams.
  • Lead policy creation and training across the business (e.g., Anti-Bribery, Whistleblowing, T&E).

Employment & HR Support

  • Provide practical legal advice to HR on employment law, contracts, and dispute resolution.
  • Support global mobility, contractor arrangements, and local employment compliance.

Strategic Leadership

  • Act as a trusted partner to the CFO, CEO, and Board.
  • Support long-term strategic initiatives such as market expansion, product partnerships, and M&A.
  • Build scalable legal processes that support a future IPO or exit.
  • Manage external legal spend and relationships with outside counsel.

What You Bring

Must-Haves

  • Qualification: Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with 8–12 years PQE (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Strong background in commercial contracts, corporate law, and data privacy; ideally gained in SaaS, technology, or PE-backed environments.
  • Sector Knowledge: Deep understanding of B2B SaaS contracts, data protection (GDPR/CCPA), and cross-border commercial arrangements.
  • Leadership: Experience building or leading a small in-house legal function.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to partner with executive teams, board members, and investors.
  • Execution: Practical, solutions-oriented mindset with ability to balance risk and commercial outcomes.
  • Tools: Comfortable with contract management and e-signature platforms (e.g., Ironclad, DocuSign, Juro).

Personal Attributes

  • Commercial, pragmatic, and proactive – a 'business partner' mindset.
  • Excellent communicator who can translate legal risk into business impact.
  • High integrity, discretion, and accountability.
  • Comfortable working at pace and managing competing priorities.
