Position Overview


We are seeking an unlicensed professional looking to become a Licensed Medicare Insurance Agent to assist individuals in navigating Medicare programs. In this role, you will educate clients on Medicare options (Parts C & D as well as Med Supp/MediGap and ancillary products), recommend suitable plans based on their needs, and help with enrollment and transitions between plans. Candidates are expected to complete their state Health Insurance License within 30 days of starting pre-licensing.

This stage is self-paced and unpaid, as licensing costs and coursework are part of the agent’s professional preparation. Exact Medicare provides support and resources throughout this period to ensure a smooth path to becoming licensed and ready to sell.

Job Responsibilities

  • Educate clients about Medicare benefits and coverage options.
  • Assist with plan enrollment and transitions.
  • Conduct plan comparisons and provide recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare regulations and deadlines.
  • Effectively manage inbound and outbound calls in a high-volume sales environment, while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Provide excellent customer service to resolve issues and answer questions.

Employment Types

  • W2: Base compensation, commissions
  • 1099: No base compensation, higher commissions than W2

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must not hold a current Health Insurance License
  • Must obtain a valid state Health Insurance License within 30 days of starting the pre-licensing process.
  • Current plan year AHIP certification.
  • Understanding of sales and ability to generate revenue.
  • Capability to contract and become RTS (ready-to-sell) with either all 3 main carriers (Aetna, Humana, and United) OR 2 of the main carriers plus 1 ancillary carrier (UHOne and Heartland).
  • Comfortable operating in a metrics-driven environment with expectations around sales performance, and call compliance.
  • Ability to work in compliance with CMS Federal regulations.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Must be authorized to legally work in the United States without sponsorship.
