Position Description:


FlexGen is currently searching for a Director of Project Management to oversee and lead a team of 2-3 project managers, ensuring the successful execution of multiple energy storage projects. The Director will have overall responsibility for managing and leading energy storage projects from contract execution through commercial operation. This includes ensuring successful staffing, managing cost, schedule, quality, risk, and client commitments for multiple large, complex projects. The role will require both leadership and technical expertise to deliver high-quality results.


Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage a team of 2-3 project managers, providing mentorship and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage and lead multi-disciplinary teams across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ensure successful staffing for assigned projects, providing guidance and support to team members.
  • Lead project planning, establish schedules, forecasts, budgets, and performance parameters to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage project cost, schedule, cash flow, risk, and quality to meet or exceed client and organizational expectations.
  • Operate in complex management environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Negotiate and administer subcontracts and ensure contractual provisions are flowed down to suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and ensure contractual commitments are met.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and successes to company leadership.
  • Collaborate with other departments to drive continuous improvement and ensure successful project delivery.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Project Management, Engineering, or Business Administration preferred).
  • 5-7 years of experience in project management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role overseeing project teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing energy storage or renewable energy projects, including integration, EPC, and commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of power conditioning systems and battery energy storage systems (100kW to 2MW/250kWh to 2MWh capacity), including transformers.
  • Knowledge of engineering/construction industry practices and EPC commercial terms.
  • Proven ability to develop and recommend solutions to mitigate delays through contractual and execution methods.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and team-building skills.
  • ·Willingness to travel as required to project sites and client locations.
