About the role

The Maintenance Technician plays a hands-on role in the daily upkeep and appearance of Farm and Forge Club facilities and outdoor spaces. This position focuses on general maintenance, preventative care, repairs, and physical labor to ensure all spaces are safe, clean, and fully functional for members, guests, and staff. 

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this role supports day-to-day facility operations, including basic repairs, court and grounds upkeep, equipment support, and event setup. If something is broken, out of place, or needs attention, you help make it right or escalate when needed. 

This is a physically active, non-desk role ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, staying moving, and taking pride in well-maintained spaces.


What you'll do

  • Perform general maintenance and labor tasks across the facilities and grounds
  • Assist with basic plumbing, lighting, fixtures, and hardware repairs
  • Support tennis court maintenance, including clay court upkeep after training
  • Conduct routine inspections and report maintenance needs
  • Assist with room and event setup and breakdown
  • Maintain restrooms, locker rooms, common areas, and athletic spaces
  • Support outdoor upkeep, including sidewalks, fencing, driveways, courts, and turf areas
  • Clear debris and manage seasonal outdoor needs
  • Operate equipment such as utility vehicles, tractors, and basic power tools
  • Track completed work and communicate issues to the facilities manager
  • Conduct/assist with HVAC inspections and change filters as needed
  • Perform on-call duties as needed/assigned
  • Ensure the environment is safe and working properly
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Follow all safety standards and procedures


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred
  • 2+ years of hands-on maintenance or general labor experience preferred
  • Basic working knowledge of building systems and tools
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to safely operate equipment and tools
  • Active Tennessee trade licensure, including HVAC mechanical licensing or EPA 608 certification, is preferred for advanced-level candidates
  • Candidates must comply with all Tennessee contractor and mechanical regulations applicable to the scope of work performed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor indoors and outdoors
  • Work from ladders
  • Stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for long periods of time
  • Work in an outdoor environment, with exposure to inclement weather and varying temperatures
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently 
  • Willingness to assist across a wide range of tasks
  • Availability for occasional after-hours or emergency needs


Compensation

This position is structured across three levels with target hourly ranges based on experience, scope of responsibility, and demonstrated technical capability. 

  • Level I (Entry/Developing): $21.50-$23.00
  • Level II (Experienced/Independent): $23.50-$26.50
  • Level III (Senior/Lead-Capable): $27.00-$29.00

Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, relevant certifications, licensure, and overall experience. 


Candidates who hold active, role-relevant licenses or certifications, including but not limited to EPA 608, state mechanical licensure, or advanced HVAC certifications, may be considered for placement within the upper end of the range or for additional compensation, commensurate with qualifications and organizational need. 


This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law.
