About the role

The Sr. GL Accountant will play a critical role in the financial management of our organization by directly participating in month-end closings and financial reporting. The role will complete journal entries and reconciliations according to the month end schedule. This position will work closely with upper management to analyze and review financial statements for accuracy.

What you'll do

  • Complete journal entries monthly and on an adhoc basis
  • Reconcile multiple bank accounts
  • Reconcile credit card activity from various merchant processors and gateways
  • Prepare account reconciliations as assigned
  • Review P&L accounts for accuracy and accruals
  • Fulfill internal requests for financial information and reporting
  • Calculate sales commissions and book appropriate accruals
  • Review and book T&E expenses recorded in Concur
  • Work with 3rd party on corporate governance and business registrations
  • Create, reconcile and prepare entries for monthly depreciation and amortization schedules
  • Assist in yearly audit by providing support and directly communicating with the auditors

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience required
  • Experience with AP and lockbox automation tools beneficial
  • Bachelor or master’s degree in accounting or finance
  • US GAAP and general accounting knowledge required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with multiple ERP systems
  • Strong facilitation, communication, organizational, analytical, and mathematical skills
  • Self-starter/action bias with desire and willingness to institute change and help others through change
  • Positive attitude, good judgement, a strong sense of responsibility and ownership
  • Ability to focus on computer monitors for extended periods
  • May work from a seated position for extended periods
  • Remote role, but occasional in person visits at the local facility based on business needs.

The pay range for this role is:

75,000 - 95,000 USD per year (Remote - Chicago, US)
