It replaces siloed knowledge, disparate tools, and homegrown processes with a fully automated, customizable platform, enabling teams to efficiently and consistently respond to incidents—and, most importantly, learn from them. That’s why the world’s most innovative engineering teams, including Spotify, Snyk, and 1Password, choose FireHydrant to build and scale their incident management programs.

Backed by Menlo Ventures, Work-Bench, Harmony Partners, and Salesforce Ventures, we’re building the future of reliability from remote offices across the U.S. Join us.

The Role

As a Senior Product Designer at FireHydrant, you will craft intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling experiences that help developers navigate their most stressful reliability challenges. You will work across web, mobile, and chat-based interfaces, designing solutions that enhance usability and streamline workflows. Embedded in a collaborative, cross-functional team, you will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and customer-facing teams to shape the future of incident management.

What You'll Do

  • Design and launch new products and features by collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define problems, map user flows, and prototype solutions.
  • Create an environment of trust, feedback, and continuous improvement through close collaboration with your Engineering and Product teammates.
  • Participate in an iterative, customer-focused environment by sharing work in progress, gathering feedback, testing and validating with users, and refining designs based on insights.
  • Support engineers with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and contribute to our codebase.
  • Contribute to our design system by creating and refining reusable components and patterns.
  • Facilitate design and feedback sessions across the team and with users.
  • Develop strong empathy for our users, advocating for their needs through research, feedback, and testing.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of product design experience with a track record of shipping high-quality products with in-house teams.
  • Strong user experience skills—you can take complex technical products and simplify them into clear, consistent, and intuitive experiences.
  • Experience collaborating with engineers in a cross-functional team setting.
  • Ability to express ideas and concepts through multiple mediums, including sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and code.
  • Proficient in Figma, with an eagerness to explore and adopt new tools and technologies that support the design process.
  • Comfortable working in a highly technical environment—experience with developer tools is a plus but not required.
  • Hands-on experience with production-level codebases—you’re comfortable navigating GitHub, JavaScript, and React files, even if you’re not a developer.
  • Excellent communicator—you can clearly convey design decisions, feedback, and ideas to teammates and stakeholders.
  • A collaborative mindset—you’re open to feedback, willing to ask questions, and eager to help teammates grow.
  • A data-driven approach—you define and measure success, implement feedback, and iterate to improve outcomes.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced product-led technology company, communicates well both synchronously and asynchronously, and has experience working on a distributed team.
