SUMMARY

The Production Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of all production processes, as well as monitoring quality standards and costs and providing administrative support.  Duties include, but are not limited to, inventory, production scheduling, team member scheduling, and team member organization.

  • Salary Range: $65,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications, plus quarterly bonus potential based on budgeted operating profit and applicable bonus program terms.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create production schedules
  • Daily reconciliation of all mix recipes in Flexibake
  • Daily reconciliation of case counts in Flexibake
  • Oversee quality control throughout the entire production process
  • Ensure all production is successfully completed in accordance with required deadlines
  • Monitor the efficiency of production equipment
  • Conduct period-end inventory of all raw materials
  • Notify Shipping and Receiving of any short or low raw material needs
  • Direct the sanitation team as needed
  • Fill in as a working team member as needed
  • Ensure all team members and supervisors are trained in accordance with/to company standards
  • Attend and proactively contribute to weekly manager meetings
  • Handle disciplinary conversations with employees and administer disciplinary action as appropriate
  • Coach/mentor staff through active performance management
  • Organize and ensure efficiency of all production departments, including shipping and receiving
  • Ensure production area is kept clean and organized at all times
  • Ensure staff compliance with all GMP and SQF programs
  • Ensure prompt notification to the Director of Operations of any production, equipment, staffing, or work-in-progress issues
  • Ensure prompt reporting of all employee absences/tardiness to the Office Manager
  • Ensure that racks and pans are always readily available to the table team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, overtime, and Saturdays as needed
  • Proficiency in all production processes and stations
  • Proficiency in the adjustment and programming of all bakery equipment
  • Proficiency in all proper sanitation standards for bakery equipment
  • Previous baking experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment is required

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • May occasionally need to work overtime and Saturdays to fulfill orders.
  • Hours will vary depending on the business and staffing needs
  • Exempt employees will work 40+ hours as necessary
  • Be able to work on your feet for long periods of time (up to 12 hours)
  • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting products and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs., as well as repetitive hand and wrist motion
  • Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment.
