SUMMARY: The Install Assistant will work with the install team in completing all HVAC system removals and installations efficiently and accurately. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Assists the Install Lead in all HVAC system removals and installations. 
  • Establishes customer rapport to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. 
  • Helps install team remove old HVAC systems, install new HVAC systems, and perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems while/ following company policies and manufacturer’s specifications. 
  • Adheres to the company’s plan for resolving customer complaints quickly and escalating to management as needed. 
  • Supports the Install Lead in maintaining a clean and organized jobsite and well stocked work truck. 
  • Carries out the wiring of both low and line voltage to cooling and heating equipment. 
  • Performs installation of copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including brazing and soldering. 
  • Ensures connection of gas lines to heating equipment is properly done. 
  • Provides necessary support to the installation team to be able to complete tasks on time. 
  • Actively participates in all formal exercises and on-the-job training to master installation techniques. 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education and/or Experience- High School Diploma or equivalent GED (General Education Degree). No prior experience or training required. 
  • Language Skills-Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to other employees of the organization. 
  • Mathematical Skills-Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money, weight measurements, and volume. 
  • Computer Skills-Basic personal computer skills. 
  • Other Qualifications- Valid driver’s license is required; Must be able to travel 50-70% of the time; EPA 608 Certification preferred and required within three to six months of employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is constantly moving about at the job site moving, building, and tearing down objects. They frequently move about and position themselves inside tight and cramped spaces. They must be able to exchange accurate information with customers and others in the office while interacting. The employee must regularly move up to 50 pounds, occasionally or move up to 100 pounds. The individual must be capable of reviewing their work for errors and make adjustments as necessary.  

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

 

The individual will be exposed to various different environments from indoors to outdoors depending on the job site. Individuals will be exposed to warm and cold temperatures based on the season. The individual will be exposed to loud machinery or equipment. Due to the risk of electrical hazards while installing or servicing, additional personal protective equipment and procedures may need to be followed.  

 

Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment as situations dictate on various jobsites. Due to exposure to machinery and electrical currents, employees are required to wear personal protective equipment. During warmer months, the required personal protective equipment may cause the employee to be very warm while working.
