About The Role

As VP of Operations, you will be on the executive leadership team, reporting to the CEO, ensuring that our vision and strategy translate into execution at the highest level. You will oversee and optimize business operations, create a high-performance culture, and establish a scalable operational foundation that drives efficiency, accountability, and sustained growth. Your leadership will be instrumental in aligning all teams with company objectives and ensuring seamless collaboration across departments.

The VP of Operations will have an outsized impact on our overall corporate health from influencing how we scale revenue to driving operational maturity that takes us to the next stage as a business. You will build an Operations organization to include Revenue, Education, and People Ops functions.

What You’ll Do

In addition to being the company’s most senior operating partner and setting a high standard for leadership excellence, the VP of Operations will be responsible for scaling an Operations organization and building company operating maturity through the following:

  • Strategic Execution & Business Operations: Partner with executive leadership team to translate vision into actionable strategy, ensuring alignment across all teams and functions, reinforcing strategic objectives while supporting external initiatives.
  • Performance & Accountability: Set a high-performance standard for Flatiron’s leadership team, ensuring all leaders meet their objectives and drive results.
  • Develop a KPI-Driven Culture: Improve upon established company-wide north star metrics framework, build reports, and provide data-driven insights to the executive leadership team. Track progress against operating plans and set OKRs.
  • Build and Optimize Business Processes: Establish a rigorous operating framework that includes key business rhythms, performance tracking, and standardized workflows across departments to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead business operations as the cohesive force between revenue, education, and operations teams, ensuring all functions work together toward common company goals.
  • People & Talent Development: Work closely with People Ops to develop and implement effective talent management strategies, cultivating an engaged and high-performing workforce.
  • Own Operational Rhythms: Lead company-wide meetings, including weekly revenue and leadership meetings, and monthly all-hands meetings and business reviews, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Manage Cross-Functional Projects: Execute high-impact projects, ensuring they stay on track and deliver results. Identify blockers and drive solutions proactively.
  • Oversee Revenue Performance & Optimization: Oversee revenue performance by driving insights, accountability, and execution across Marketing, Admissions, and Student Success. Ensure revenue teams are optimizing processes and go-to-market strategies, scaling effectively, and identifying opportunities that drive measurable revenue outcomes.
  • Data Architecture & Visibility: Design and implement a structured data architecture that ensures clean, reliable, and accessible data across all business functions working closely with Product and Data teams. Provide real-time business insights to the executive leadership team to inform strategic decision-making and drive company-wide efficiencies.
  • P&L Ownership & Forecasting: Partner with VP of Finance on financial planning, forecasting, and overall P&L accountability, ensuring strategic investments align with business goals and drive sustainable growth.

Who You Are

  • Experienced Operator: You have successfully scaled an education or tech company (ideally in EdTech or Talent) and have proven experience executing at a high-growth company; preferred 10 years of experience and VP of Operations or startup COO title
  • Background in Strategy & Execution: You have hands-on experience in high-growth companies where you have set the strategy and driven operational excellence and performance at a senior leadership level.
  • People & Leadership Focused: You have strong leadership skills, you invest in developing talent within your team and across the organization, and you inspire and motivate teams to drive results in a way that fosters trust and collaboration.
  • Data-Driven & KPI-Focused: You live by numbers and have built reporting structures, established KPIs, financial metrics, and driven business insights that improved performance.
  • Results-Oriented & Strategic Thinker: You are a proactive problem solver and have an operator mindset with a relentless focus on execution, ensuring every initiative has measurable business impact.
  • Revenue & Financial Expertise: You have a strong understanding of finance and GTM/revenue operations, including forecasting, RevOps, and sales performance management.
  • Execution-Focused & Highly Organized: You can optimize existing processes, create new ones, and manage operational complexity across multiple teams.


The pay range for this role is:

200,000 - 250,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
