Data Center Construction Cost Control Manager

This position is located in Sparks, NV and requires the candidate to be on-site. This employee will need be located full-time within a commutable distance to the project site.


Position Overview

The Cost Control Manager reports to the Director of Construction and is responsible for supporting cost management, forecasting, and financial controls across Fleet’s data center development and construction projects. This role partners closely with development, construction, commercial, and finance teams to track project costs, monitor budget performance, and ensure financial transparency throughout the project lifecycle.


This position plays a key role in enabling disciplined cost control, identifying variances and risks, and supporting predictable financial outcomes across Fleet’s growing portfolio.


Job Responsibilities

  • Support cost control activities across multiple large-scale data center projects, including budget tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain accurate project cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial dashboards in coordination with project and finance teams.
  • Track commitments, expenditures, and change orders to ensure alignment with approved budgets and project scopes.
  • Assist in evaluating cost impacts associated with scope changes, schedule adjustments, and risk events.
  • Partner with construction, commercial, and project management teams to ensure timely and accurate cost reporting.
  • Support development of standardized cost control processes, tools, and reporting templates.
  • Participate in monthly cost reviews, helping identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improved financial performance.
  • Maintain cost documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives related to cost management and reporting.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support project delivery and organizational objectives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in cost control, project controls, project accounting, or related roles within construction, infrastructure, or capital project environments.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting project budgets, cost forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • 3+ years of experience working with cost management systems and financial reporting tools.
  • 3+ years of experience collaborating with cross-functional project teams, including construction and finance.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with cost control systems such as Procore, Oracle, SAP, CMIC, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of change management, forecasting methodologies, and cost risk analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate cost information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

 

Expected Salary Range: $100,000-$150,000 base salary + annual bonus
