EHS Coordinator

This role is located in Seattle, WA, with an on-site expectation of three days per week.


About this job

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented EHS Coordinator to support the EHS team including the VP, EHS and EHS Construction Managers.  This role is crucial for ensuring the effective execution of various administrative and programmatic functions of the EHS Management System processes.  The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for managing the EHS Management System Policies and Procedures, supporting the EHS vendor qualification process, managing all aspects of EHS management system software implementation, collecting EHS data from operations, periodic reporting of key EHS metrics including leading and lagging key performance indicators, coordinating EHS meetings, supporting the cultural engagement program, and maintain the compliance tracking function.  


Key Responsibilities

Program support:

·         Provide administrative support to ensure that the EHS vendor qualification process is well organized, documented, and action items are tracked and resolved.

  • Manage the EHS Management System by:
    • Assisting the EHS team with daily administrative tasks, including maintaining and organizing all EHS-related files, records, and documentation.
    • Assisting with drafting / revising policies and procedures.
    • Supporting the learning process.
    • Tracking findings from audits, investigations, and other sources in the compliance tracking system and ensure these are resolved.
    • Establishing follow-up and escalation processes to ensure corrective and preventative actions are effectively implemented.
  • Provide programmatic support for EHS Managers’ oversight of hazardous activities, including:
    • Collecting and assessing EHS-related metrics to ensure performance standards are met and, when not, supporting stakeholders in taking corrective action.
    • The three levels of risk assessments (program, activity, and task) and corresponding forecasting and planning meetings.
    • Follow-up and reporting on General Contractor planning meetings, Data Center Safety Meetings, look-ahead meetings, and daily coordination meetings.
    • Developing EHS communications, including sharing Lessons Learned.
    • Follow up of audit and inspection findings until resolution.
    • Management of Change (MOC) for schedule, costs, design, personnel, and scope.
    • Safety in Design meetings.


EHS Data Management

  • Manage EHS software platforms to ensure effective data collection, entry, data integrity, analysis, and reporting.  Establish and implement data integrity protocols.
  • Collect and track EHS key performance indicators (KPIs), including incidents and injuries, and key performance leading and lagging indicators, and assist in preparing regular EHS reports (balanced score card) for senior leadership.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, including risk assessments, planning meetings, and safety training sessions.
  • Support all office-related EHS programs and activities, including the new hire orientation program.
  • Support the collection and reporting of all sustainability-related metrics.


Program and Project Support

  • Support the development, implementation, and periodic drill/exercising of emergency response plans, and implementation of environmental management best practices, including waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainable initiatives.


Collaboration and EHS Culture

  • Liaise with on-site contractors to collect EHS data and documentation.
  • Assist with the coordination of EHS-related training and new hire orientations.
  • Develop and manage EHS cultural engagement programs, including EHS recognition and communication programs.
  • Support the learning and post-mortem process for incidents, ensuring findings of fact, root cause determination, conclusions, and recommendations are thoroughly established and implemented.
  • Champion Fleet Data Centers' top-level EHS policy statement, promoting a strong on-site culture where environmental, health, and safety are paramount.
  • Partner with the construction project director, managers, engineering teams, procurement, legal, and other internal departments to integrate EHS considerations into all phases of the construction lifecycle.


Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive or equivalent experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety management.
  • 3+ years of experience managing EHS software including contractor vetting and compliance and metrics reporting.
  • 3+ years of experience partnering with various internal and external stakeholders, including project directors, engineering teams, and legal departments, to integrate EHS into every phase of our operations.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST, OSHA 30).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a proactive safety culture.


This role will include up to 25% domestic travel to Fleet offices and vendors.


Expected Salary Range: $100,000-$130,000 base salary + annual bonus potential
