We're looking for a creative, passionate, curious Salesforce Developer to join our team. In this role, you will start by working with a team of four to build a state-level service system on Salesforce for one of our clients. As that project winds down, you will be assigned to other Salesforce implantation projects. You will also work on the building of our internal Salesforce system and develop our Public Health 360 product for local health departments. This role is perfect for someone eager to make a difference through technology in the public health sector.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 per year (and we pay 100% of health insurance premiums)


Experience Required

1-3 years of work experience that includes at least 1 year of experience working in governmental public health (local, state, federal, non-profit, or contracting).

We encourage applications from non-traditional backgrounds and recognize that candidates may not have all the desired experience. However, we will prioritize candidates that do have public health experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Salesforce solutions for public health applications
  • Develop, test, and support custom Salesforc Apex classes, Apex Triggers, and Lightning Web Components
  • Implement and Configure Salesforce platforms on client projects
  • Collaborate with team members on projects for state and local health departments
  • Be part of a dynamic team building the PublicHealth360 platform on Salesforce which will the technical operating system to local public health departments

Required Skills

Strong foundation in Salesforce Service Cloud

  • Proficiency in configuring and customizing Service Cloud features such as Cases, Knowledge, Omni-Channel, and Service Console
  • Experience with Salesforce workflow automation tools including flow and Omniscript
  • Understanding of Service Cloud analytics and reporting capabilities
  • Familiarity with Service Cloud best practices for case management and customer service processes

Proficiency in Apex programming

  • Ability to write, test, and debug Apex code
  • Understanding of Apex triggers, classes, and batch processes
  • Knowledge of governor limits and optimization techniques
  • Experience with Apex test classes and code coverage requirements

Experience with Lightning Web Component (LWC) development

  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for LWC development
  • Understanding of LWC lifecycle and component communication
  • Experience creating reusable and performant LWCs
  • Familiarity with LWC best practices and design patterns

Understanding of Salesforce data model and security concepts

Data Model:

  • Knowledge of standard and custom objects, fields, and relationships
  • Experience with schema design and optimization
  • Understanding of record types, page layouts, and field-level security

Security Concepts:

  • Proficiency in Salesforce's security model, including Profiles, Permission Sets, and Sharing Rules
  • Understanding of Object-Level, Field-Level, and Record-Level security
  • Knowledge of Salesforce authentication methods and single sign-on (SSO) integration
  • Familiarity with data privacy and compliance features in Salesforce

Ability to translate public health needs into technical solutions

  • Skill in gathering and interpreting requirements from public health stakeholders
  • Experience in mapping public health processes to Salesforce functionality
  • Ability to design and implement custom Salesforce solutions for public health use cases
  • Understanding of public health data management needs and how to address them within Salesforce
  • Capability to create user-friendly interfaces and reports that meet the specific needs of public health professionals
  • Knowledge of how to integrate Salesforce with other public health systems and data sources

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Salesforce Health Cloud or Public Sector solutions
  • Familiarity with public health systems and workflows
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and data security in healthcare settings
  • Curiosity
