Forge does one thing and one thing only: design and install incredibly efficient and effective heat pump systems for homeowners across Massachusetts. Our team of HVAC techs and electricians range from masters to apprentices and all of our apprentices are trained in-house through our unique training program – ensuring the highest quality for both our customers and their fellow crew members.

We are hiring electricians to support our residential heat pump installations. We are looking for licensed electricians with relevant experience in wiring heat pumps in existing homes (old work/retrofit). You should be comfortable working alongside HVAC installers to complete full-system replacements efficiently, independently and to code. Experience with panel/service upgrades, low-voltage controls and load shedding devices are a big plus.

Pay and position:

  • Pay ranges from $40-$55/hr, based on your ability to work independently and lead jobs
  • The position comes with a company van equipped with tools and materials following a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work on our jobs (typically 2 to 4 weeks)  

What you’ll do:

  • Basic heat pump wiring; Wire a variety of heating and cooling equipment like condensers, air handlers, minisplit heads, branch boxes, heat kits, thermostats and integrated controls, etc.;
  • Perform service and panel upgrades;
  • Install load shedding devices and smart panels
  • Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently; 
  • Ensure code compliance and OSHA standards;
  • Comply with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements; 
  • Partner with project coordinators and operations managers on our office team. 

Who You Are:

  • You have 5+ years of experience in residential retrofit electrical work.
  • You take pride in high-quality, efficient work and understand the value of great customer service.
  • You're professional and personable with homeowners.
  • You're independent but collaborative — confident doing the work, open to learning, and eager to teach others.
  • You can manage multiple tasks, stay calm under pressure, and know when to ask for help.
  • You’re tech-comfortable and adaptable to tools like G-Suite, Slack, and scheduling software.
  • You have a valid driver’s license and can pass a background check and drug test (excluding marijuana).
