About the role

The Director of Brand is a highly hands-on leader responsible for both defining the brand strategy and executing it day to day. This role blends strategic thinking with operational ownership ensuring the brand is not only well articulated, but consistently brought to life through high-quality work. You will oversee creative development while actively contributing to key initiatives, acting as both brand steward and doer. This role is ideal for someone who loves building brands, leading teams, and rolling up their sleeves to make the work real.


This role reports to the VP of Marketing and Communications and works closely with the Director of Communications and cross-functional partners across the company.

What you'll do

  • Own and evolve the company’s brand strategy, positioning, and narrative across all channels and audiences
  • Translate brand strategy into clear, executable plans, creative briefs, and guidelines
  • Oversee and actively participate in creative development across campaigns, events, digital experiences, and content
  • Ensure brand standards are consistently applied across all marketing assets, platforms, and touchpoints
  • Develop and lead brand strategy for social media, large-scale events, product launches, and integrated marketing campaigns
  • Act as a brand evangelist, internally and externally, building deep understanding and enthusiasm for the brand
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, communications, product marketing, and leadership to align brand with business objectives
  • Review, refine, and personally contribute to high-visibility and high-impact brand work

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in brand, creative, or marketing roles, with increasing leadership responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing creative development and managing designers, creatives, or marketers
  • Experience owning and enforcing brand standards across multiple channels and platforms
  • Working knowledge of the full marketing mix, including social, paid media, SEO, digital, out-of-home, and experiential marketing
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to turn abstract ideas into clear, actionable direction

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building or scaling a brand during periods of growth, transformation, or category creation
  • Background working with complex, technical, or B2B brands
  • Comfort operating in fast-moving environments where priorities evolve and speed matters
  • Experience working with both in-house teams and external agencies
  • A portfolio or body of work that demonstrates brand-building impact and creative excellence


US Salary Range
$170,000—$200,000 / annually


The salary range for this role is an estimate and is based on a wide variety of compensation factors. The salary offered to candidates will vary based on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education, specialized training, critical expertise, training, and more. Equity in Forterra is included in most of our full-time, high-demand roles and is therefore considered part of Forterra’s overall compensation package. In addition to base salary and equity, Forterra offers competitive benefits for full-time employees including:
