About the role
Forterra is seeking a highly organized and motivated Capture and Proposal Analyst to join our Growth team. This role is essential to supporting the full lifecycle of federal business development, from early opportunity identification and qualification through proposal submission. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in advancing our pursuit of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) contracts and other strategic opportunities aligned with Forterra’s mission to deliver autonomy-enabling technology to the modern warfighter.
What you'll do
- Support the capture process across multiple federal opportunities, assisting in the development of win strategies, solution positioning, and customer engagement planning.
- Develop and maintain opportunity and capture documentation (e.g., opportunity trackers, capture plans).
- Lead the preparation of proposal responses to RFI, RFP , and BAAs, including writing and editing content, coordinating input from subject matter experts, and ensuring compliance with solicitation requirements.
- Manage proposal calendars and submission schedules, keeping internal stakeholders aligned and informed.
- Conduct research on government customers, competitors, and acquisition trends to inform capture and proposal strategies.
- Assist with formatting, proofreading, and final production of proposal submissions.
- Participate in after-action reviews and support continuous improvement of capture and proposal processes.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience working in a Growth function within the federal government contracting industry, preferably within defense, aerospace, or dual-use technology sectors.
- Demonstrated experience supporting proposals (RFIs, RFPs, white papers, or BAAs) for DoD or other federal agencies.
- Strong writing, editing, and document management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word and PowerPoint), SharePoint, and proposal collaboration tools.
- Exposure to or interest in emerging defense technologies, autonomy, or AI/ML.
- Understanding of the federal acquisition lifecycle
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
- Familiarity with proposal and capture processes at both small and large federal government contractors
- Graphic design or desktop publishing experience
- Familiarity with government contracting and acquisition approaches across both FAR- and non-FAR based mechanisms (e.g., OTs)
The salary range for this role is an estimate and is based on a wide variety of compensation factors. The salary offered to candidates will vary based on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education, specialized training, critical expertise, training, and more. Equity in Forterra is included in most of our full-time, high-demand roles and is therefore considered part of Forterra’s overall compensation package.
