Growth Lead

About Forterra

Forterra is a leading provider of autonomous systems for ground-based movement in the working world. Amongst some of the earliest innovators in the field of driverless technology, Forterra is focused on building systems that protect front-line soldiers and enable civilian workers in our industrial base. Forterra is the go-to provider of ground autonomy solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense, which harnesses the technology for asymmetric warfare in critical conditions.

About the Role
We are seeking a driven, entrepreneurial Growth Lead to lead go-to-market strategies and drive significant growth outcomes for Forterra’s defense autonomy solutions. This role will be central to scaling Forterra’s presence across the Department of Defense and other government agencies, growing initial engagements into enduring, impactful programs.

The Growth Lead will identify and pursue new opportunities, converting pilot projects into larger contracts and embedding Forterra’s technology into critical programs supporting national security and the industrial base. You’ll work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to develop strategy, execute on growth plans, and expand our reach within the defense ecosystem.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies: Work with mission team leadership to identify growth opportunities, craft market-entry strategies, and position Forterra’s technology as essential for defense programs.
  • Drive growth outcomes: Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, build consensus around pilot programs, and convert them into larger-scale deployments within the Department of Defense.
  • Lead cross-functional teams: Coordinate with engineering, product, and business development teams to ensure alignment between customer needs and Forterra’s solutions.
  • Expand Forterra’s footprint: Identify opportunities to embed Forterra’s technology into existing defense programs and propose innovative solutions for new challenges.
  • Build and scale business lines: As you achieve growth milestones, you will lead the development of new business areas and grow teams to support these efforts.

What We’re Looking For
We value experience, adaptability, and an entrepreneurial mindset. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in one or more of the following:
    • Defense policy, acquisition, or program management within government agencies.
    • Delivering growth outcomes for defense products, particularly in early-stage or startup environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to decompose defense programs and requirements to develop go-to-market strategies for new technologies.
  • Proven track record of launching pilot programs with federal customers, driving their success, and converting them into long-term contracts.
  • Experience creating and executing ambitious, holistic growth strategies in verticals within the federal government.
  • Deep understanding of the defense ecosystem.
  • A strong sense of urgency and an ownership mentality, with the ability to solve complex problems and overcome roadblocks.

Why Forterra?
At Forterra, you’ll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology with the potential to transform defense operations and protect lives. You’ll join a team that values curiosity, urgency, and collaboration, and you’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of autonomy in national security.
If you’re ready to take on a challenging, high-impact role in a fast-paced startup environment, we encourage you to apply.
