About the role

  • Forterra is seeking a VP of Platform Integration responsible for driving the cross-functional team efforts across the entire product implementation lifecycle. This role demands a high level of expertise working with various technical teams involved in getting a product developed and released to production, with a particular emphasis on multi-disciplinary engineering due to the technical nature of the platforms involved. Professional experience with autonomous vehicle, automotive, or aerospace industries is essential. 

What you'll do

  • Manage several Platform Integration efforts and manage several Platform Integration Leads.
  • Ability to mentor, coach and grow new leaders.
  • Streamline the processes and roadmap across multiple platform integration programs.
  • Experience managing product development cycle from prototype to at least Low Rate Initial Production.
  • Manage the integration of the AutoDrive and peripheral products onto a variety of vehicle base platforms.
  • Strong coordination with contractors, OEM partners, testing groups, customer.
  • Strong collaboration with the AutoDrive hardware, software, and test teams. 
  • Manage platform product roadmap.
  • Optimize teams execution to the level of maturity required at each stage in the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the autonomous vehicle industry, automotive or aerospace industries.
  • Must have a strong background in hardware and software together.
  • Experienced working with real time computing applications.
  • Experience working with cross-functional groups (supply chain, production, field operations/support, hardware/software/mechanical/electrical/integration/test/safety engineers) throughout the entire product implementation life cycle to ensure that final products meet the requirements/objectives and the product can be effectively released to production and field support.
  • Experience communicating with suppliers, contract manufacturers, partners, and customers.
  • Product management experience: developing product specifications/roadmaps.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of safety-critical systems (e.g., MIL-STD-882, ISO-26262, DO-178). 
Education & Experience
  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degree in the field of Robotics, Computer Science, or Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams.


US Salary Range
 $200,000—$300,000
 
The salary range for this role is an estimate and is based on a wide variety of compensation factors. The salary offered to candidates will vary based on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education, specialized training, critical expertise, training, and more. Equity in Forterra is included in most of our full-time, high-demand roles and is therefore considered part of Forterra’s overall compensation package.
