About AAPD
The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) works to increase the political and economic power of people with disabilities. As a national disability-led and cross-disability rights organization, AAPD advocates for full civil rights for over 60 million Americans with disabilities. We do this by promoting equal opportunity, economic power, independent living, and political participation through our programs and advocacy. We are looking to hire contractors who embody our mission and are invested in building the disability rights movement.
AAPD is an equal opportunity employer. Our office collaborates across initiatives to actively uplift and center the diversity of the disability community in our work. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, status as a protected veteran, or status as a qualified individual with a disability. Applicants with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.
AAPD has an office headquartered in Washington, DC, but staff are primarily remote or hybrid. AAPD follows strong COVID-19 Prevention Policies in our DC office and whenever our staff are in-person. The REV UP GOTV Contractor will be required to follow AAPD COVID-19 Prevention Policies if they attend any in-person engagements through their role.
The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) is seeking a REV UP GOTV Contractor to support the use of NGP Voter Action Network (VAN) in two states: Georgia and Texas. AAPD’s REV UP campaign (“Register, Educate, Vote, Use your Power”) is a national nonpartisan campaign working to build the power of the disability vote and improve election accessibility. The network consists of grassroots state voting coalitions in around 20 states and partners in over 30 states. In 2026, REV UP is piloting the use of VAN to increase our direct voter outreach. The REV UP GOTV Contractor will lead VAN strategy and implementation, providing both strategic and logistical support to two disability vote coalitions in our pilot states: REV UP Georgia and REV UP Texas. The Contractor reports to the Director of Accessible Democracy.
