Lyntris is a defense technology company that connects sensing to action across the connected battlespace. Lyntris brings together the talents of Accelint and Vitesse teams under one mission, with each contributing deep expertise within their domain. Combining differentiated hardware, software and mission expertise, Lyntris helps customers sense threats, make sense of complex conditions and act with greater speed, precision and confidence in contested environments.

Lyntris supports U.S. and allied defense organizations across every branch — including Navy, Army, Air Force, Space Force and allied partners — spanning strategic, operational and tactical missions and every domain: Space, Air, Land, Sea and Cyber. With more than 200 active defense programs, Lyntris works at every level of the mission, from national command authority to the tactical edge.

Solutions are designed by operators who understand the mission, engineered for the conditions that degrade or defeat standard systems, and built on an open, modular architecture that integrates into existing programs without requiring them to start over. Lyntris moves faster than the traditional defense cycle — with integrated design, build and test capabilities in-house — and delivers systems that sustain and endure long after initial fielding.

Job Description

  • Senior Systems Integration & DevSecOps Engineer
  • Full time
  • Onsite

The Senior Systems Integration & DevSecOps Engineer is a hands-on engineering role focused on integrating and testing complex DoD software systems, building the tooling that makes that testing repeatable, and maintaining the secure pipelines and environments those systems deploy into. This engineer works across subsystem and external system boundaries, writes the automation that catches integration problems before formal test events, and builds tooling with an eye toward reuse beyond a single program.

This position supports the Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) Engagement Controller and Manager (BECM) program and requires solid software integration engineering, test engineering, and DevSecOps experience in classified, highly regulated environments.

Work Environment: Full-time on-site in Sterling, VA, split between standard office space and SCIF work. Flexible daily start and end times, coordinated with program needs and facility access windows.

Duties & Responsibilities

System Integration & Test

  • Integrate and test software subsystems and external systems, identifying issues related to interface contracts, data exchange, timing, usability, functionality, safety, and security
  • Write and maintain SWIT and SIT test threads, cases, and steps, and support traceability from requirements through verification evidence
  • Participate in integration events with external system owners and government stakeholders, including dry runs, formal test events, and site activities
  • Triage integration defects across system boundaries, isolate root cause, and work with the responsible team to drive closure

Test Tooling & Automation

  • Build and maintain test tooling: simulators, stubs, message injectors, data generators, log analyzers, and results reporting
  • Develop automated test suites and utilities, and keep them current as subsystems and external interfaces change
  • Extend automated regression coverage inside CI/CD so integration failures surface early rather than at test events
  • Produce consistent test reporting and evidence artifacts for both engineering and compliance consumers

Reusable Engineering

  • Build tooling and test assets as versioned, documented components rather than one-off scripts, so they hold up when another program picks them up
  • Flag duplicated effort across teams and help consolidate it into shared components
  • Contribute to common conventions for interface documentation, test structure, and environment configuration

Infrastructure & DevSecOps

  • Use container technologies to configure and deploy software to lab, integration, and customer site environments
  • Build and maintain automation pipelines, artifact management, and environment provisioning, including disconnected and classified enclaves
  • Implement security and compliance controls inside the pipeline rather than at the end of the cycle

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new software and its verification approach
  • Write and maintain documentation for integration, test, and deployment processes
  • Share integration and test practices with less experienced engineers on the team
  • Stay current with developments in software integration, test engineering, and secure delivery

Required Qualifications

  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Hands-on experience integrating and testing software across subsystem or external system boundaries
  • Experience building test automation, harnesses, or test utilities, not only authoring test cases against existing tooling
  • Experience working in secure or regulated software environments
  • Experience working in cross-functional software development teams
  • Working knowledge of at least one major public cloud provider (AWS or GCP preferred)
  • Experience with container and orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, Helm, ArgoCD, Flux)
  • Proficiency with Python and testing frameworks such as Pytest; Linux shell scripting and core CLI tooling (grep, awk, sed, ssh, scp); pipeline development using tools such as GitLab and Artifactory
  • Experience creating test threads, cases, and steps for SWIT and/or SIT
  • Active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing distributed, real-time, or message-driven systems where timing and ordering matter
  • Experience building interface simulators or emulators for systems unavailable in the lab
  • Experience with test reporting and results aggregation standards (e.g., JUnit XML, CTRF, Allure)
  • Experience with behavior-driven test formats (Gherkin, Cucumber)
  • Experience with data integration and streaming technologies, including NiFi, Kafka, and REST APIs
  • Experience mentoring engineers or leading a small technical effort
  • Experience with documentation tools like Swagger
  • Experience with modeling tools like Cameo
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification
  • DoD IAT Level II security certification (Security+ CE, GSEC, SSCP, or CCNA Security)

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
