About the role
Seeking an Embedded Software Test Engineer to direct, design, implement, document, and maintain the build and test infrastructure to validate the code running on Aptera’s battery management system (BMS), solar charger, thermal system, body controllers, and infotainment.
What you'll do
- Synthesize functional requirements to create embedded testing infrastructure
- Design, code, and document Software in the Loop and Hardware in the loop embedded software tests
- Design and Establish Embedded SW test automation for embedded systems
- Validate implemented features for functional compliance with requirements
- Maintain and develop the automated build system for embedded SW applications
- Maintain and develop Aptera python support tools
- Work hard, challenge industry conventions, and relentlessly strive to make truly exceptional products
Qualifications
- Experience in C programming, with an understanding of C++
- Experience in Testing Embedded Systems
- High standards for code quality, maintainability and performance
- Experience in Linux development environments
- Experience in git repo management
- Experience in documenting test code
- Experience with HW test using power supplies, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
- Comfortable in fast paced and dynamic team environments
- Passion for cutting-edge design, innovation and Aptera’s mission
- Strong willingness to learn, take on new challenges and solve complex problems
- Able to lead a team of test engineers
Preferred Qualifications
- Specific experience with one of the following, Vehicle Thermal Systems, Battery Management Systems (BMS) or Battery Charging Systems
- Knowledge of major electric vehicle (EV) sub-systems and architecture
- Comfortable with Jira for bug tracking and traceability
- Familiarity with CAN bus and LIN bus

- Individual contributor; collaborate with other teams and individuals, as necessary
Required Experience
- 8+ years of pure software development
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field, with practical software development experience
