AtScale

Senior Developer Advocate

The Mission

AtScale is the semantic layer for modern data and AI. We sit between the cloud data platforms where data lives—like Snowflake, Databricks, Google BigQuery, and Redshift—and the BI, AI, and analytics tools where decisions get made. Our platform enables data teams to define metrics and business logic once and use them consistently across every tool, application, analyst, and autonomous agent. We are looking for a Senior Developer Advocate to help us redefine how the world handles business intelligence and enterprise AI.

The Impact You’ll Make

In this role, you will:

  • Publish Durable Technical Content: Create and ship authoritative technical content under your own byline—including blogs, tutorials, teardowns, quickstarts, sample repositories, and the SML pattern library—tailored for both GUI-native BI Engineers and code-native Analytics Engineers.
  • Lead Community Activation & Industry Presence: Serve as the active, technical voice across developer watering holes (GitHub Discussions, dbt Slack, Reddit, LinkedIn); deliver conference presentations at events like Snowflake Summit, Databricks DAIS, and dbt Coalesce; host technical livestreams; and contribute to open-source working groups like Apache Ossie (incubating).
  • Champion Developer Experience & Product Feedback: Approach the platform through the lens of a new practitioner to identify friction points, keep the developer hub populated with frictionless entry points, and channel field insights directly into the Product and Engineering roadmaps.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Ownership & Autonomy: You thrive as an individual contributor, owning your outcomes and driving real change.
  • Innovation-First: Work at the intersection of AI and data at a company hitting its next major inflection point.
  • Culture of Trust: Enjoy a flexible, remote-friendly environment built on transparency and professional growth.

Who You Are

  • You bring strong hands-on technical depth: you read code, build working integrations, write SQL with ease, and demo live without a script.
  • You are fluent in multidimensional and OLAP-style data modeling (dimensions, hierarchies, grain, and non-additive measures) and can hold your own with enterprise data architects.
  • You have a working understanding of how AI systems interact with enterprise data, including LLMs, autonomous agents, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and text-to-SQL.
  • You have a proven track record of teaching in public (published writing, conference talks, a content channel, or active open-source repositories) and are comfortable on stage and on camera.
  • You are comfortable in fast-paced environments where priorities can shift quickly, bringing an appetite to learn complex topics rapidly and share the journey openly.
  • Bonus points if you have experience with semantic modeling languages (SML, MDX, DAX, LookML, Cube, or dbt MetricFlow), deep expertise in a major BI tool, or an existing developer audience.
  • You are located in the U.S. and comfortable collaborating across standard U.S. business hours (Boston, MA area preferred).

The Perks

  • Competitive salary + equity.
  • Unlimited PTO and comprehensive benefits.
  • The chance to shape the future of a global leader in AI-ready analytics.
