Senior Implementation Project Lead

Summary:

We are actively hiring a Sr. Implementation Project Lead to join our team to create something meaningful that will greatly impact people's lives. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of state partners, ensuring Statewide Gateway Programs are meeting established utilization and contractual metrics.

 

The Sr. Implementation Project Lead combines strong relationship management with a data-informed approach to program oversight while maintaining consistent engagement with state program administrators while monitoring performance trends and driving corrective action where needed.  This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable in a stakeholder meeting and the details of program performance.

 

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for an assigned portfolio of state agency partners, maintaining regular cadence with state program administrators to support program health and continuity.
  • Monitor state partner performance against Gateway utilization targets and contractual obligations, identifying trends and proactively addressing gaps before they escalate.
  • Lead structured check-ins and program reviews with state contacts, translating performance data into clear narratives and actionable recommendations.
  • Partner with internal teams including marketing, implementation engineering, and account management to resolve program issues and support state partners in achieving their goals.
  • Maintain accurate program documentation, tracking engagement activity, metric status, and risk signals across your portfolio.
  • Contribute to team-level process improvements, documentation, and best practices for state program management at scale.

What Success Looks Like…

In 3 months…

  • Develop deep familiarity with our Gateway product solutions, state program structures, and contractual metric frameworks.
  • Establish strong working relationships with State Program Administrators and State Account Directors across your assigned portfolio.
  • Accurately assess the health and risk level of each state program and communicate findings internally.
  • Explore opportunities to enhance workflows through AI or automation tools (e.g., document summarization, task routing, or data parsing).
  • Identify repetitive tasks and partner with team leads to implement scalable automation solutions.

In 6 months…

  • Independently manage a full portfolio of state programs with consistent engagement cadences and up-to-date performance tracking.
  • Drive measurable improvement in metric attainment across at-risk programs through targeted outreach and action planning.
  • Contribute meaningfully to team documentation or process improvements.

In 12 months…

  • Recognized as a subject matter expert in Gateway state program management, including complex or high-visibility state partnerships.
  • Demonstrate sustained portfolio health consistent metric attainment, strong state relationships, and low escalation volume.
  • Actively shape how the team approaches state program oversight, performance monitoring, and risk management at scale.

What You Need:

  • BA/BS degree in a related field and 4+ years of experience in project management, account management, or client relationship management (Healthcare experience is a plus).
  • A mission-driven focus with a passion for spearheading change
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and updates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships, understand customer needs, and provide solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and the ability to manage timelines, resources, and deliverables across multiple projects.
  • Experience in healthcare or familiarity with EHR systems would be a plus, but not required.
  • Comfort using or learning AI-supported tools (e.g., ChatGPT, CoPilot, or role-specific tools) to improve daily workflows.
  • A forward-thinking, curious mindset with an openness to experimenting with new technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and creativity in designing solutions.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly evolving environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment, ensuring high-quality virtual interactions with minimal distractions. 
  • The ability to travel periodically for work.
