What You’ll Be Doing

The Campus Pastor (CP) provides leadership and oversees all ministry operations of the campus. The CP is the campus leader and is responsible for the planning, preparation, coordination, and execution of BattleCreek Church campus ministries and events.   The CP oversees outreach to the churched and the un-churched in the context of the geographical location and community of each campus.  The CP will execute the mission, vision, and values of The Executive Team within the context of their location. The CP will serve as shepherd for the congregation and staff of their respective campus.   


Your Day-to-Day 

Every day looks different, but here’s a snapshot of what you’ll be up to: 

  • Builds relationships with people by connecting them to Christ, the church, their ministry in the church and mission in the world.  
  • Recruits, coaches, trains and empowers volunteer leaders to build effective teams and accomplish the mission of BattleCreek Church.  
  • Partners with leadership teams at the campus and with teams that support the campus to ensure standards of excellence are in place and are implemented.  
  • Main stage communicator as Worship Services, occasionally as a teacher (depending on gift mix). 
  • Coordinates other special projects and performs other duties as directed.  
  • Set realistic and goal driven budgets in line with vision and consistently operate within those limits and focus on cost containment. 
  • Establish organizational driven goals for department and subordinates and directs their annual fulfillment with a focus on continuous improvement.  
  • Directs strategy, planning, forecasting, staffing and succession planning in consort with Executive Team and/or Pastor’s Council.  
  • Consistent in rewards and/or discipline and in the application of policies and procedures.  
  • Personally, continuously improves and leads others to do the same in line with goals and core values. 
  • Supervises and oversees assigned department staff ensuring level of alent in subordinate positions.  
  • Understand basic employment laws and ways to protect the organization through minimizing liability. Consults with Human Resources.  


What We’re Looking For 

The must-haves for this role: 

  • Education & Experience: We are looking for someone with a Bachelor’s degree and Seminary degree or equivalent in related discipline, preferred (but it is not a requirement) and at least 5 years’ experience preferred. Having experience in a multi-site environment is an added plus!  
  • Skills & Strengths: We are looking for someone who: 
  • Align with the vision and mission of BattleCreek Church.  
  • Have strong attention to detail and organization skills. 
  • Enjoy building relationships and have a high level of customer service. 
  • Have excellent time management.  
  • Take ownership of your own development. 
  • Communicate and listen well. 
  • Bilingual is a plus. 
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally is required, up to 30% travel. 
  • Ability to navigate working with team from various countries and cultures.

The Essentials 

Depending on the role, you might find yourself in an office, on stage, out in the community, or working behind the scenes. Evening and weekend hours may be required—it’s all part of ministry life! 

This role is primarily office-based but may involve some physical activity, including standing, lifting (up to 20 pounds), kneeling, setting up equipment, or prepping for events—sometimes even late at night. Don’t worry; we’ll ensure you know what to expect!
