At most companies, a Senior Financial Accountant is a cog in a well-oiled close machine. The process exists, the templates are built, the checklist is handed over. Here, the function is still maturing while the business is moving.
You will be expected to both execute core accounting work reliably and improve the systems around it in real time. Some processes will be undocumented. Some cycles will require triage. You will be expected to think, not just execute.
The mission
Boom’s development of Overture will change how the world moves. The immediate development of the Superpower turbine will ensure we have the capital to make it happen. But none of this development happens without the financial infrastructure to support it. This role owns the general ledger and supports financial reporting — the foundation every investment decision, capital raise, and growth milestone is built on. Without reliable close and reporting execution, the company cannot scale responsibly or pursue the ambitions that make Boom worth working for.
What you’ll do
This job is demanding and rewarding
Close and financial reporting cycles are time-pressured, and precision is non-negotiable even when things get messy. Some processes will be incomplete when you arrive. Unexpected issues will surface mid-close, and you will be expected to triage them independently. You will also balance close with other projects and company priorities — that is the nature of a lean, scaling team.
What you get in return is rare. Your contribution is directly visible, the work materially impacts how the business operates, and the development trajectory is steep. If you want to execute inside a fully built machine, this is not the role. If you want to build something, develop fast, and become a cornerstone of a team supporting one of the most ambitious engineering programs in the world, this is an unusually high-value seat.
What you bring to the table
Why Boom
This is a chance to build something real and own meaningful portions of the accounting operation. The work is demanding, the environment is fast, and the expectation is high. But the scope of impact is significant, the trajectory is real, and you will be part of a small, high-functioning team building the financial foundation of supersonic flight and next-generation turbine technology.
